Edit: This thread became popular really fast and people started jumping to conclusions like they didn't read my thread and just wanted to be salty for no reason. Every single comment is irrelevant to the point I'm making. I posted this in the player behavior section because it discusses the legitimacy of reasons to permanently ban an account, something nobody ended up discussing because people assumed I was crying about my account. If I cared about that account at all I wouldn't have said those things on it in the first place. When I saw my permanent ban pop up on my screen, I wasn't pissed off that I lost my account. I was pissed off at Riot for thinking that THIS is what deserves to be permanently banned and that led to my conclusion that Riot just wants your money because it is irrational to ban an account for swearing 20 times in a game. That's my opinion. That's how I view it. This is supposed to be a discussion, not a circle jerk of pointing fingers. I don't feel like I am discussing anything with you people. I feel like I'm being attacked and I've done nothing to you. I'm done with this thread. I hope that someone finds this thread in the future and reads it and gets a good laugh or two because I sure did. Goodbye.

I just want to point out that the people working at Riot, the people who put out skins for "sale", the ones who design champion kits, the ones who moderate player behavior, the ones who work on game design, you know, those guys? Not the people who actually created League of Legends, or the people that make professional events happen, or the people who genuinely want League to be a better game. Those people are just great. Just dandy. But the other Riot employees? They're fucked up people to say the least. They're evil. I really, truly believe that. I really do. With that said, my account was permanently banned for cursing multiple times in a game. One single game. No warning. Nothing.

By the way, I was swearing at a guy who went 0/20 on our team. This is a justifiable reason to be pissed off at someone and I really don't think anyone is going to disagree with that. If you were sitting in a room with somebody, playing League of Legends, in the same game, on two different monitors, and the other guy was doing that shit, don't even fucking try to tell me you wouldn't be swearing at him in real life with your own words. Would I have gotten banned for calling my roommate a fucking loser for intentionally feeding and ruining my game? No. Because that's a realistic reason to call someone a fucking loser. But because I typed it into the chat because I can't physically talk to this guy, I lose all of the money I gave to Riot and I lose my account. Just like that.

This isn't a reason to ban someone. This game features fucking TITS as a MAIN ADVERTISING TACTIC TO MAKE MONEY, which in my opinion is WAY more fucked up than swearing because it's extremely sexist, but you'll ban people for swearing. We're all adults here. We know what fuck means. You're a fucking child if you honestly get offended by someone saying fuck. I doubt the people who created League of Legends, the people who originally took the idea from the warcraft mod and made it into their own game, I doubt those guys would have looked at this ban report and think to themselves "Wow, I'm so glad we have such a great player moderating system. That guy really got what was coming to him. He really deserved to lose enough money to equal an entire paycheck. Fuck that guy for being mad at someone who is actually ruining our game and actually deserves to be banned."

They're hypocrites. You know what you SHOULD be getting banned for? AFKing and cheating. Unless you're telling people to kill themselves or threatening to kill someone, or harassing someone, or some form of bullying, there's nothing that you can say in chat that should be fucked up enough to get banned for.

You wanna hear the truth? Here's the truth. Here it is. I was banned because Riot wants money. The reason why Riot employees are so happy-go-lucky with the ban button is because they KNOW that you'll make another account and buy all the skins and champions you had back with RP. I'm absolutely terrified that at any given moment my main account will be randomly banned, that I'll just wake up one day and the hundreds of dollars I spent will be gone. Every day I think about it. Due to this, I never use the chat log for anything because they are DESPERATE to ban people for literally any reason. You CAN and WILL get banned for just about anything.

Don't do what I did. Don't take chances. Don't take the risk. It's not worth it. Don't use chat.

You're repeatedly:

  • calling for others to gang report someone
  • threaten to report every single member of the match
  • repeatedly typing homophobic slurs
  • are a whining toxic baby rager for the entirety of the match That's all reportable.

It's easy to see why Riot skipped the appetizer and went right to dessert perma banning your ass.

Yes, you were banned because Riot wants money. You were banned so that other players would stay and enjoy the game. Because having players like you around drags the game. So yes. You are correct.

AFKers and cheaters get punished. That Garen will get punished.

And people who can't express themselves without resorting to acting like they are fourteen are punished. You got punished.

And you're wrong about everyone being adults. LOTS of kiddos in this game.

And you are super wrong about me cursing at someone irl about their performance in a GAME. Bro, get some perspective. If you think it's okay to do that, you've got deeper issues. That is not okay, and never has been. Actually, the hallmark of bad behavior online is people doing stuff they would NEVER do irl. You wouldn't do that to some random guy in a bar. If you roommate is an asshole, and isn't big enough to stop you, whatever. But you certainly wouldn't do that with strangers in public, and if you did, you wouldn't last long. Pretending otherwise is ludicrous.

Riot is trying to minimize that problem; the one where people think it's okay to go off on someone because they don't know them irl and there aren't real consequences. The only way to do that is for there to be real consequences is for Riot to introduce them.

So if you want to change my mind, you tell me better consequences (more fair, more effective, whatever) for them to use than bans. I would love to hear it. I think the bans are working. In part, I think that because all the people that come and complain about getting banned can't even hold it together enough to not be toxic for one forum post. Anyway, I've told you how to change my mind; go ahead if you'd like.

You were probably banned for being toxic. No matter what a person's score is, you cant be harassing them in game. In fact, it is your job as a TEAM MATE to try and help them. League is a TEAM game, it requires TEAMWORK. If someone on your team isn't doing well, you should help them. Not start swearing at them later in game.

Also, the game makes money because people enjoy playing it. It is entirely free to play and because people enjoy playing, they buy extra stuff like skins and wards and all those fancy things.

Tbh I think you were just acting toxic in game, it probably wasn't your first toxic game, and are just butthurt that you finally got punished.

I don't care if you claim to be gay or not. That type of chat has been time and time again confirmed to be COMPLETELY unacceptable. You earned this ban, and the immediate escalation should not surprise you.

Recently when these threads have come up it hasn't been as clear cut from the one chat log they post that they deserve a ban.

Not so with this one. Near as clear as can be, ban was 100% deserved. And the fact that you think it's not ban worthy further justifies the ban.

And even removing the instances of the word "%%%got," you would still deserve a ban based on that chat log. You didn't get banned because you used specific words. You got banned because you were being a gigantic fucking asshole to every other person in that game.

The OP has already departed by this point. But I don't think it matters what we say. He's dead set on believing he did nothing wrong.

What he doesn't realize is that his choice of words, and perceptions towards Riot in general, are not behaviors that are acceptable in League by the majority. So, as long as the OP talks and acts like he does, he won't be welcome. But he's already banned. Seems a mute point, doesn't it?

People downvoting you because YOU are RIGHT. Its ridiculous right now. Bans over literally nothing. I mute all EVERY game because I am in fear of losing my account and the money/time I have put into it, with NO chance of even getting to appeal the ban. The sad part is I am still terrified ill get a Perma ban and I call my lane, type GLHF and then mute everyone and say GGWP after game.

What they are doing is legitimate theft, and I would say they probably owe A LOT of people money back but they hide behind "Terms & Conditions" which is a huge joke that people will defend Riot for. The Terms & Conditions could say you owe Riot your life if you lose your first game and people would be like "we all signed the terms and conditions blah blah blah".

Its BS and im sorry you lost your account that you put time into when you could have been putting time into other video games. Too bad Riot doesn't appreciate your loyalty.
