Could I get unbanned please?

Ostmo··7 votes·1,020 views

Hello Riot , it's been 2 years since I've been banned on this account. I think I've reformed myself in the past 2 years and I want to get back into the game please I really want this account back since it had almost all the champions and I've bought so much RP . I would much appreciate if my request could be fullfield. Thanks for reading this thread.

Sadly, no matter how much time has passed, a permanent ban that was not placed in error will remain permanent - i.e. never be lifted.

You should take into account to give people a second chance, no matter what the rules state. I understand his case but I think it's a bit too strict for your rules to NOT unban people. There are other people EVEN MORE TOXIC than this guy and they still play the game, despite buying/levelling up accounts. Take for exemple Tyler1. He has been unbanned even tho he had 22 fcking permabanned accounts, probably the most toxic player ever in League of Legends. Kinda stupid for a succesful company to not give their players a second chance and forgive what they have done in the past.. :^)

Behavioral perma-bans is given after the player is already given several chances. Those are the chat restrictions and 14-day ban.

Tyler1 never had any of his accounts unbanned. He got a ban type that only a few other players receive, a ban-on-sight.

Chermorg3 votes

Unless someone is exceedingly toxic (i.e. real life threats, doxxing, etc) they are given at least one, and in many cases three chances before they are permanently banned. They already have a second chance, and many times a third and fourth chance. The only people who are permanently banned are those who've shown after multiple punishments that they don't care about reforming.

PleaseNoFatChiX2 votes

So this guy does show he cares why cant he have his account back?

Chermorg5 votes

He had his chance, and the only reason he cares so much about behaving well is precisely because he is feeling the pain losing all the time/money/effort put into an account is. If Riot were to just hand back those accounts later, players would almost always (if not always) return to their poor behavior. It eliminates the shock and gravity of the punishment if it becomes not permanent.

How about I never cheat or be toxic never but still get banned beacuse I violate the terms. But as I see I violate non of them I checked.

AeroWaffle2 votes

What were you banned for?

If you were banned for poor behavior they state you can be banned for that right here;

https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/legal/termsofuse#code-conduct

Edit: Judging by your pasts posts you need to contact support. Riot will lock down an account if they feel like it's compromised to protect the real owner. Those types of bans are lifted once the issue is resolved.

Albert Ho 10201 votes

I get banned because of violation to the terms and it didn't say it is a peraban and I am sure I didn't violate the terms, so I think it is an error.

cuddlykitten41 votes

Yea, look into it with support man. If you really didn't do anything wrong, you know if htat's true or not, then someone might have been trying to hack you or something. THey actually do reverse that if it's true. I've seen them do it on the boards before. I wouldn't be on the boards expecting a result, but that's what support is for.

cuddlykitten41 votes

wtf is doxxing? I have never heard this term before

Chermorg1 votes

Generally it refers to the behavior of stalking someone else online and posting real-life information about them (full name, address, phone number, city, school, friends, etc) in an attempt to scare or blackmail them.

cuddlykitten41 votes

People actually do that? That's a pitiful person who resorts to that kind of behavior. Thank you for the information.

PleaseNoFatChiX1 votes

permabanning really isnt an answer the best would be to add time to a banned account even if it was 5 years. atleast they still get to use it one day and riot didnt just steal their money and give nothing back to them.

AeroWaffle3 votes

No. If Riot permabans your account because of poor behavior they want you elsewhere.

The money you spend in the game is done so with the agreement that you are just using Riot's content so long as you adhere to their rules. They are not stealing the money.

cuddlykitten41 votes

They do that. IT's called a 14-day ban.

cuddlykitten41 votes

Also, ever consider that maybe it's the players who aren't causing problems that don't want the problem causers to come back? I know I"m ok with them being gone for good personally.

I'm curious which of Tyler1's 22 permabanned accounts were unbanned? Did he get all his champions and skins back on those accounts? Which of his permabanned accounts is he allowed to play on once again?

Zero. None. Nada. Zilch. (Sorry if you were just asking to make a point)

fatherdarius1 votes

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. So making a point, and good to have confirmation.

Superior Profke1 votes

Can I query you on the "placed in error". Does this refer to bans that were placed for no reason at all as a mistake in the system or can it also apply to bans that were made by the system correctly (as in the system was functioning as intended) however did not take into account context.

My example would be the system banning someone for saying "This Kha is so bad" (obviously this is toxic), however if the person that said this was playing Kha'Zix it becomes obvious self-deprecating humor. There was no error in the system that made the ban however the ban itself is unwarranted.

Would this be counted as a permanent ban placed in error and be overturned?

Chermorg1 votes

Placed in error means bans that should not have been placed by the system. If the only line of "punishable" text in the chat log was the line you said, I doubt a punishment would've been issued in the first place, but it would likely have been deemed "in error", yes. If that was being said constantly, there becomes a point where self-deprecating humor becomes more of a pessimistic negative attitude.

Timethief493 votes

Permabans dont get lifted. You are free to create a new account and play non toxic and that one though.

Ostmo3 votes

If you had read the whole thing I said that I would like that account back since I had all the champs and bought so much rp. Also getting all the champs now is harder ;^)

Timethief494 votes

You are getting champs faster with the new system, there are enough posts that do the math. You should have thought about the fact that you loose all that stuff when you got your first warning. You wont ever get the stuff back sry to bring you the news.

Scuttle3 votes

He did read it. Why should it matter if you have almost all the champs, or spent RP? Permabans are... permanent.

Certain permabans do get lifted. It all depends on the situation and such.

Timethief491 votes

Those are mostly suspensions or ID bans Not permabans.

Nope, there have been permabans lifted if Riot deems the system to have been too harsh in a situation.

Timethief491 votes

That is true, rare, but true you are right.

PalPlays3 votes

I'm glad to hear that you have reached a perspective that values treating those around you with the upmost respect! While permabans are not lifted, as they set precedents that Riot does not want to be set, you should be pleased to know that leveling and obtaining champions is now easier than ever with the new crafting/leveling system!

PleaseNoFatChiX1 votes

Lets be honest riot has seen a large drop in players this season it might just be riot doesn't know how to please its community. Is there a place where i can see how many actual players there are and not how many accounts have been made? The ban hammer being thrown around so much promoting more bad players to keep trying and playing and the good players who become toxic to these bad players to just stop playing. I have spoken to riot employees multiple times about accounts that are being used to boosted bad players to places they cant handle and ruining game play for the serious players and they said the game has ways to detect that i still see those accounts duoing and climbing the game is on a down hill path to disaster to where even challenger players are playing with boosted players and streamers are becoming more toxic.

Bwahahahahaa

Short answer: No. Long answer: HELL NO.

PleaseNoFatChiX

You see unless you have a large fan base like Tyler1. Riot will not listen to you because to them you are nobody. They want you to have to spend money on their game. Why would a money driven company start giving back accounts that would prevent those who have been banned from having to make new accounts and spend money on champions and skin. My advice to you is make a new account spend no money on it if you have shit champs then play those shit champs if you get reported for trolling because you do not have the champions to play certain lanes then let them. Riot will ban that account eventually then you just repeat the cycle. Riot will not listen or unban an account for someone that isnt a big time streamer. look at how their employees act they can be toxic aswell but keep their accounts because they can say what they want because they judge what is toxic. It is my opinion that if riot did give these accounts back they would see less trolls and a happier community. But remember that isnt their goal they want to ban accounts to promote more accounts to be made so more money is spent.

AeroWaffle3 votes

May I ask what more could Riot do to push someone to go elsewhere? Because that's the purpose of the perma-ban.

PleaseNoFatChiX1 votes

make the bans longer and longer after each ban even if it stacks to 100 years

AeroWaffle2 votes

That's encouraging them to come back, not encouraging them to leave.

PleaseNoFatChiX1 votes

Yes because they are not going to leave the game. when someone has something like money invested into something and it is taken away for ever it creates anger then they start to troll or smurf because they are mad and want to make other people mad and hate the game. So make it where a player can only have 1 account by linking a i.d to it stack time on bans pretty sure korea has something in place so they only have 1 account.

AeroWaffle2 votes

Yes because they are not going to leave the game

Some people don't leave, but certainly some do leave. They lost all their stuff. You get the same thing if someone loses all their save files in a single player game, except much worse since real money was often involved and there is no unresolved story to tempt the player. Some just never pick the game back up because they don't want to go through all that progress again. Those that do come back come back with the knowledge that they'll be sent right back to start with nothing if they follow the same behavior that got them banned last time.

when someone has something like money invested into something and it is taken away for ever it creates anger then they start to troll or smurf because they are mad and want to make other people mad and hate the game.

And they just keep that up forever? So you believe that every perma-banned player will then further choose to waste their own time accomplishing nothing?

So make it where a player can only have 1 account by linking a i.d to it stack time on bans pretty sure korea has something in place so they only have 1 account.

You can't implement an ID system for all locations, too much push back because people don't want to give companies their personal information.

PleaseNoFatChiX1 votes

those unwilling would just give up the ability to play the game i would be willing to give my information in order for riot to take control of its community rather than create trolls and toxic players. Also at the end of the day what has someone accomplished playing and winning a game. Really nothing they didn't get wealthier save someones life help anyone to be honest i play league of legends to waste time and escape reality because that is all this game is a waste of time. like all games.

AeroWaffle2 votes

That's from the perspective of someone who is already playing the game. The F2P model exists to get past that greatest problem of getting people to play the first time.

Adding a requirement of personal information that needs to be verified creates a much larger barrier to entry, discouraging many from trying the game.

cuddlykitten41 votes

^ this guy is right. The ID thing would never work. People won't go for that. Riot would have hell controlling that on a world scale. If Korea is doing it is more likely that KOREA is the one doing it, not Riot. That would be a governmental issue, and I"m sure if you looked they probably have less freedoms on their internet in general. Also, if that's the case then you would have to prove your identity every time you logged in because what's teh point of that if anyone can get on your account? What about hackers that steal your account? There are hackers that can do that stuff. Now you've lost your only account you will ever get. Can't make another, ID says you already have one.

You should NEVER be so hasty to give away your personal information over the internet, or in life, like that. Especially not for the sake of a video game. Respect yourself more than that.

cuddlykitten41 votes

then I guess Riot is encouraging the permabanned players to stop wasting their time and to accomplish something productive with themselves? That's kind of noble actually.

PleaseNoFatChiX1 votes

Also if riot wanted to remove players from their system permanently they would make their system subscription based in order to have the serious players keep playing rather than just letting players start over.

AeroWaffle2 votes

Also not an option. Making the game subscription base would lose any player-base they gain for being F2P.

Riot will not listen or unban an account for someone that isnt a big time streamer.

Talking like you know something when your facts are completely incorrect. Tyler1 was ID banned, aka, the moment Riot found out he made a new account, they banned it. They only lifted the ID ban so he could actually be allowed to play again. Every account of his that was banned is still currently (And will forever stay) banned. He had to make a new account and level it up yet again (For probably the 25th time).

It takes a very special person to get ID banned. To the point where it's either just Tyler1, or it's just a single digit amount of players out of 10's of millions.

No one gets their account back.

PleaseNoFatChiX1 votes

okay but that shows their system still does'nt work.

cuddlykitten41 votes

This is humanity. No system we've made for anything actually works. If you're trying to make that your goal then I can make you a list of tons of things that you should focus on making work before this video games ban/account making system....im just sayin....

They didn't unban any of Tyler's accounts. The only special treatment he's had, is a harsher penalty than anyone has received. (as far as I know)
