The question mark ping toxic spam problem.

I Need an Hotfix·10/17/2016, 3:30:20 PM·11 votes·8,122 views

I'm sure that I'm not the only one with this issue, and probably has been issued already in the past. But can be a good idea to renew RIOT to PLEASE do something about this.

The spam pinging the question mark symbol all over you or a team mate just because some child is pissed got out of control. I can say that at least in the 50% of my games someone is spamming ????? to someone for a good portion of the game. And often happen that the victim for retaliation does the same to the one that started this situation. It's ridiculous. PLEASE allow us to mute the pings of the players. At least make it possible in all the modes but ranked games. PLEASE.

I understand a verbal abuse or other behaviors might be even more toxic that this. But nowadays many people instead to just f**k you off just spam question marks all over you for the entire game. It is not cool at all. It really creates a bad environment to play and for sure doesn't make the victim of this ???spam feel comfortable for the entire game.

I hope Riot implements a feature where you can mute the pings of a particular player. As it is now, you only have the option to mute all pings, but not all pings are spam. Pings are a great and effective way to quickly communicate with your teammate, so if one person ruins it by spamming all game and you mute the pings, you're also muting legitimate pings that are actually helpful. Riot, please allow us to mute individual players pings. Thank you :)

BUT IF I CAN'T SPAM PINGS HOW WILL I COMMUNICATE MY DISAPPOINTMENT IN THEM BEING ON MY TEAM!?

It really is awful

I mean, it's kind of a hard problem to solve as it's not a game issue but more of a mentality issue.

I think the best way to go about it is to replace the "?" with some other symbol that can be associated with missing.

You can mute the audio sounds of all pings, but no way to isolate individual ping effects.

I resorted to just muting all ping sounds, I'm still alert enough to notice muted audio pings and I get the benefit of ignoring ping spam when I need to.

there was an actual statement from a rioter saying how they did not want to give players the option to mute pings, because there is a large population of players who /mute all at the start of the game, and muted players still need the ability to communicate certain things

ping spams (when used as a harassment tool) are punished.

typically by manual review and starts with a 14-day ban.

Please remember to report it under "unsportsmanlike behavior" and/or "verbal abuse"
