Lately I've strongly considered just muting everyone right away. When on a losing streak especially I just don't want to hear everyone's whining. Is that a bannable offense or a viable strategy to playing?
I still ping and respond to pings, I just don't want to hear the comments.

def not a reportable offense, if it was muting other players wouldnt be an option. as long as you find a way to still communicate with ur team ie. pings your good
Not only is it not a bannable offense, it's highly recommended in cases like this one, where you are worried about having an entire team of flamers. The game is supposed to be fun. And if you need to not read people's bs comments to have fun, then /mute them.

definitely consider to mute the enemy team permanently and to forget that /all chat even exists

I do this on my actual accounts I care about. Nothing anyone has to say is worth reading. Just mute all and win more games.
I've been doing it for a while. Little to anything constructive is ever said in chat, especially at my elo. Pings are mostly fine, although i do wish i had a "this is warded" ping.
/mute all works wonders. :) I do that A LOT. Especially if playing in Flex cause there are some many people there that just getting really annoying fast.
