Is it Possible to give my Account a permanent chat restriction?

I really Liked the chat restriction since it came out, you arent 100% restricted to chat (you can still write X no F or do calls) but you dont have enough messages to fight with your teammates over things and risk getting penalties like a permanent ban.

I think it would be a good Idea to even make an option where you can enable/disable chat restriction as Player on your Account to safe yourself from getting toxic.

Thoughts?

Sounds Good!

Your Idea doesn't have a downside in my opinion since if you dont want it you can straight up just not enable it

riot wont do it. because they would rather patronize and mock toxic players and drive them out. then actually help them not be toxic

Adding a permanent chat restriction would make toxic players be worse imo. Just because they can't "speak" doesn't mean they wont be toxic, after all not all toxic players actually speak. Some of them troll, feed on purpose, refuse to help their team, etc etc.

Remove a toxic player, who is only toxic in chat, their ability to speak and they'll turn to other ways to troll. Ways that aren't easily detected by the system, which are a few ways stated above.

I mean, I don't see why not.

If you don't want to use it you don't have to, and I know a LOT of people that this would help.

Most of the time a "toxic" player isn't really toxic, they're just super piped up about something and it just builds up inside of them. People are people, and because of that we constantly find conflicts with other people for the most random of reasons. It's human nature to get angry and say a few things you didn't mean to say from time to time.

So yeah, I'd really like this to be a feature in the game.

They won't, although I wish they would. I've been permanently banned 4 times. Before my 3rd permanent ban in 2013 they said no when I asked for a permanent chat restriction, and before my 4th permanent ban in 2016 they said no when I asked for a chat restriction. They don't care about players who are toxic, regardless if they are trying to reform or not. Look at the change in tone in the later shown support tickets down below from 2013 to 2016.

In 2013, they would say "Thank you" and "I'm happy [to hear a good experience]" and give sound advice to help you stop being toxic and not in a patronizing way. In 2016, they talk about how you get punished and how it's your fault. Of course, these are two different people, but truly this is just how Riot Games has changed. They don't care about the player base who are toxic regardless of attempts to reform and better themselves, and they certainly don't try to help them reform only punish them. Riot won't change their views on anything, as shown by their zero tolerance policies, refusal to readd solo queue (despite most people demanding it), and how their view on this hasn't changed in 3+ years.

The only way I've stopped being permanently banned is because I figured out a way to completely disable enter key in game, using this method (read description): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KET_tpV1xk

It will take time to get adjusted to not having chat. You WILL actually use summoners you don't mean to, but you will get used to not having chat enabled in less than 10 games.

You will play better, and you will focus less on flaming your teammates.

Hello LeaverBuster Pls,

Thank you for writing in. I’m happy to hear that our latest player behavior initiative “Restricted Chat” has drastically improved your gameplay. Unfortunately we are not able to manually place restricted chat on an account at this time. Restricted Chat is only applied as a result of a guilty judgment in the Tribunal.

While I can’t restrict chat on your account, I’d be happy to share some tips and advice on how to avoid toxic situations in the future!

First, be sure that [All Chat] is turned off so you won’t see messages from the enemy team. You can do this by going to the Options Menu, and selecting “More Options”.

You should also check out the Summoner's Code if you haven't. The Code is intended to help players maintain perspective on why we're all playing League of Legends, what we hope to gain from it, and how we want to be treated while we're a part of the community. You can find it here:

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or concerns!

Hey Summoner,

There seems to be a little confusion here over the nature of our punishments and systems. Restrictions are only issued when there is consistent - but relatively mild - negativity over many games. Three may be referenced (from a larger pool) but only as examples for negativity becoming common > in your games. It doesn't mean that only three games displayed negativity in any respect.

Our systems work on a progressive scale; meaning that if a player continues to be negative, their punishments will continue to escalate. This isn't > about a single game, it's about your overall behavior over many different games and how it remains consistently negative. This account received > previous warning in the form of chat restrictions, yet improvement has not been consistent. As a result it was issued a warning suspension that we won't be reducing or removing. Please understand that if those behaviors continue it will result in a permanent suspension.

I'd recommend using chat more conservatively and taking advantage of smart pings as an alternative. If someone upsets you, simply mute them and report them rather than retaliate, insult, or argue with them. Remember that you can't control how others are going to act or play, you can control how you react to them.

I don't see why people would want this. If you're hecka toxic then don't chat?

Ellis McPickle6/19/2016, 4:00:32 PM2 votes

You could just learn to have control over your emotions, stop being a child, and control what you say. Else you could continue to not learn and hope Riot gives you a perma restricting so can continue to rage in your own mind. Good luck in the real world.

Thoughts: 1: first chat; I'm muting you all because you all deserve to die and should drink bleach. 2:second chat; don't argue with me or i will fuck your mom. 3:Third chat; muted and reported. 4: mute them all, report them for unsportsmanlike conduct and move on with carrying. 5: don't do 1 and 2.

So you can't control yourself?
