Why Surrender?

ok so this has been bothering me, i literally just did a match and my team surrendered when it was a good winning chance, and i've gotten this in the past a lot when it's almost a clear win and i'm the only one who agrees that we can win. anyway i'm not a basher, if you're a bad player i'll help you in a match, but this seriously pisses me off cause i say repeatedly while the vote is happening "we got this we got this" "don't surrender" yet what happens... 4 against 1.... anyway if someone can explain this please do cause i'm just pissed off and confused cause people keep doing this in my pvp matches. so again... please explain this for me...

Unlike most other posts I see on here, I feel a certain degree of empathy with you. I do however, wish to offer the following advice.

Part of any democratic process is to agree that the majority opinion takes precedence. If I want to surrender, one guy telling me "don't surrender" will not get me to change my mind.

    If you truly feel the game is winnable, then I recommend  you take the time to formulate WHY you think so. I've managed to sway surrender votes by giving concrete points, which is what I recommend you do. Off the  top of my head, here are a few arguments I've used succesfully.

"Guys I'm (or champion X on my team is) super fed, keep me alive and we can win" "Their only threat is (Champion Y on their team, if we rush him in teamfights, they have nothing else" "Our team has a better teamfight than theirs, we just need one combo"

I especially like the following because it appeals to even the most negative people "Guys i've thrown games from way better positions than they're in... They can too"

  In the end, however, you have to respect that if 4 people in your team no longer wish to play this game, their 4 votes combined supersede your 1 vote.

I do like this one too but i'd say word it differently like... "Guys I've seen games thrown from way further ahead teams, they could throw too" Just because if you imply that you have thrown then it can also get into their head "oh this guy throws, we DEFINITELY won't win now" or something like that. Idk just my thoughts on it, otherwise yeah giving reasons to not surrender outside of "Don't do it" definitely helps (I also hate surrendering)

I can't help but agree with your improvement of my line. I almost never vote to surrender, but if 4 of your guys have given up, then so be it.

players that vote yes should be punished for it since it's the same has throwing the match on purpose. You won't win so be it it will happen when enemy team destroy nexus. I can say that in one match i was doing a 1vs9 my teammate where throwing themselves on purpose and we lost the match when i died at the 86 minutes mark acing an enemy team alone while dealing with 3 super minions waves like 8 times in a row while they have baron and elder dragon is no easy task so anyone that think they can't win in those kind of situation shouldn't allowed to play any game mode for next 24 hours real times give them time to meditate on their very poor and very contagious mindset.

Have you never had a comeback? Have you never lost a game in which you were super far ahead?

It happened to me just 2 or 3 days ago. Mid lane Yasuo was getting trounced, Top lane Malphite was.. well nobody has any clue what the fuck that guy was up to and neither did he. My Braum support was playing fine but kept raging at the idiot Malphite. I was Caitlyn and our Jungler was Jax. Both of us were doing ok, slightly ahead of our counterparts.

     The enemy team managed to push down 2 inhibs. They got both our nexus towers, but they overstayed. Jax jumped on their faces and slew them valiantly (as Jaxes do). So we managed to fight off the supers and after a few minutes, the enemy team went for elder dragon. Braum and Malphite caught them right next to the river bush and jumped on their faces. I was behind the wall next to the ramp, so the enemy couldn't get to me. I shot the sheriff, the deputy and all of the others combined : triple kill. Jax did his face jumping thing and slew the other two. Only me and Jax survived, but that was enough, we ran down mid, killed the turret, the inhib and  the 2 nexus turrets. Jax suicided to keep their resurrecting asses off me while I slew the nexus. BAM, victory. 

      Best game ever.

But I can pretty much tell if its a losing or quite winnable match lad

the human race is a primitive and stupid specie in general, give them fire they find a way to immolate themselves, give them weapons to defends from wildlife they wage war between themselves over imaginary thing like borders (mexican/texas), politics views, religious views. We're just beast with higher brain functions. Give them the option to surrender and they will use it even if the situation doesn't warrant it. Some real war has been won because of that mentality.

I don't entirely disagree with the sentiment you are expressing, but if your definition of a primitive or stupid species is large enough that it encompasses every species we have ever heard of, it is not particularly useful.
