You don't have to know to get banned. If you can prove you didn't know, it definitely helps in the event that you decide to make an appeal.

The Ecdysiast1 votesBut per the terms agreement, once currency becomes Riot points it no longer has any monetary value. If he were the one who purchased the points, then it would stand to reason that the RP and any subsequent purchases would be removed from the account.
However, since he received a gift instead of paying for it directly they don't have the right to take that from him, regardless of what how his friend acquired the RP.

This is completely not related, not the place for this, and you're going against the Universal Rules on the Boards here by being a jerk to him. Also, while Riot can stand up for itself, users are allowed to defend Riot if they so choose. The players cannot all be unified in hating Riot, because that's just how League of Legends gets shut down. People are allowed to enjoy the game.

- Riot lets you keep it and they pay the guy back for the skin
- Riot lets you keep it and they make your friend pay the guy back for the skin

Agh, I don't think I can find the post, but I remember a guy posting in Help & Support asking about a missing Skin. His friend gifted him it but apparently there was a chargeback, so Riot had to take the Skin back from the player.
