Where has the ambition gone?

How come this happens every single time - [insert lane here] loses its lane and is 0/3 at 10 minutes. Starts saying just open and go next. Why? I don't understand. Does anyone even try anymore? Just because you lost your lane doesn't mean the game is unwinnable, geez.

It's a defeatist attitude that has started permeating the league community, which is a self fulfilling prophecy. Everyone has extremely snowbally games now and then, especially during preseason. So then people start thinking that all games are going like that, and that they can't win if they get behind early. So if they get behind in a game, they stop trying as much, stop putting in the effort that might actually win them the game. In turn, all this does is make all the complaints about snowball and "game is lost at 3 minutes" true, as everyone just gives up.

in a matchmaking system like LoL uses you are going to lose half your games. that is a fact.

so the only way to spend more time winning than losing is to surrender. in fact the best way to maximize your fun is to surrender every chance you get.

if you are losing but your team scales well and you feel like you still have a 40% chance to pull out a victory you should surrender. you only get to win half so that loss is coming anyway. if you pull out a victory after losing most of the game it isnt worth it.

every win creates a future loss in matchmaking. by losing most of the game and then winning at the end you have wasted a win on a game that was not much fun most of the way through and caused yourself a future loss which is dropping more fun.

surrender. surrender early and often and at every opportunity and you will have more fun in this game.

I dunno, it's a real bummer when a winnable game gets flushed because your teammates decide that "going on to the next" is something worth arguing about.

Especially when the losing lane isn't even hugely relevant. Oh no, the Maokai or Ornn got fed? Whatever will we do? Meanwhile, Vayne quietly won bot lane, and we're 100% still in the game.
