In response to Ask Riot about patches, scripting, and rotations- THE REAL REASON WE GET BANNED

Okay guys, so here is the real reason RIOT doesn't go into depth about scripting or banning in general. First off let me just tell you that they have extremely weak methods of detecting true banning. This is a GOOD thing. "sophisticated" cheat detection code almost always rebounds and does more damage to a gaming community because it will ban a ton of people who should not be. The reason RIOT is all hush about their methods is because they want you to think that they are employing exteremely intelligent methods. This is false. It's a little more than running an application scan and detecting that common scripting/cheating tools aren't being used (AHK, triggers, etc.) If you know anything about scripting, you won't get caught, but if you are noob or a software developer who uses these tools for work, you probably got banned just by running a work script because cheat detection tools like all software cannot determine human intent and do not consider human error or coincidence. SO if you do NOT want to get banned for cheating and you really are NOT scripting, just don't being an idiot. Make sure you turn of your AHK scripts, proxy services and CSGO triggers before you launch and sign into league. NOW, if none of the above applies to you, here is the real reason you got banned:

First, most people don't understand the TOS. RIOT is about making a sport, a sport that makes money. If you find a way to win every match against their pro teams in less than ten minutes. That is by default an exploit and a bannable offense. It doesn't matter if your IQ is 250 and all you did is use their items in a way that no one with an IQ of < 180 can think of. No one stupider than you, can tell the difference. That just means you don't belong in this community of Nay saying conventionalists. Sadly (and i share the sentiment) The irony about our predicament is that league of legends is the ONLY game that EXISTS that allows for COMPLETE cross-class operating and building. Too bad the only person at RIOT games with any imagination or skill at all is the original game designer... and us who can see this.

Now, heres my personal experience with banning to give you some idea about what I just said.

Fact:

  1. Never used a script or ran one during league application run-time.
  2. Only used the C word twice, for against players who literally spammed really hurtful passive aggressive demeaning things to other teammates who were "feeding" (<5 deaths).
  3. Over 20,000 dollars spent across 12 accounts in 2 years

Results:

  1. Banned 7 accounts for "unsportsmanlike conduct", "cheating", and "verbal abuse".
  2. No explanation given.

Conclusion:

By doing this Riot tells me that the fact that I mobilized an entire team of invulnerablity using champions (morg,kindred,taric,kayle,trynd) to use blood razors and ohmwreckers on towers leading to finishing ranked games in less than 10 minutes consecutively and achieving challenger promo twice in less than 2 weeks ISNT the REAL reason i got banned??? I am pretty fucking sure this is the reason.

No. I didn't say that. WHY? Because I read the TOS. I understand that I am "Donating" money that is irretrievable. And so what I do is make a new account and find a new way to utilize my insane creativity and get banned. Because THAT IS WHAT I LOVE. THAT IS WHY (I) PLAY. And I will keep spending money because I support the community and want to see the game and artists and sport succeed.

If that's not why you play, then fk off and quit reading, you won't understand anything further anyway.

Now, for those of you who do understand. This is called Deviance. It exists throughout all societies. And ironically is one of the major reasons societies thrive. Being a deviant in LOL is no different. You actually make this community better. WHY do you think they buffed the towers until after 10 minutes?? In this case I am one of the reasons. Because i consistently raped that nexus in under 10 consecutively against Diamond 1, and made FAKER shit himself IRL. Positive result? Now teams can't just destroy anyone in less than 15 minutes at tournaments=no longer watching boring stomp 10min games=more money for riot=more cool skins for you=less college suicides=better real world society.

So what to learn from this? Enjoy getting banned. You are a deviant. It's what you do. People hate you. Because people are stupid. But because people are stupid and hate you, they get better, feel safer, live longer/happier and feel like they are good. WE make this place better by pissing everyone off and in all the different ways we get banned. The thing to remember: Deviance is only good if bans exist. Without consequences, bans, exile etc. Deviants would destroy society and League of Legends. So you HAVE to be banned. You have to be hated. It's neccessary. Otherwise we would keep wasting people and no one would have fun, Smeb would cry and Sneaky would uninstall. That would be LAME cuz no Worlds games to watch.

Now i've said a lot that everyone hates us, a lot of that reason is because they are afraid and wish they could be you. They wish they weren't afraid. But the FACT is, If everyone accepted or was a deviants the world would fall apart. And we don't want that. Otherwise there is nothing to deviate from. So, to avoid that day we shall give them other things and types of people to work on "accepting." and being. To be a good deviant you must embrace yourself, but MAKE other people hate you, and make sure they are protected all the while.

Understand and embrace your deviance. It will make RIOT and its Employees richer, smarter, more popular, and ultimately a major real world power. All the while you have fun ignoring social boundaries and emotional expectations of a largely unintelligent and extremely emotionally insecure world and game community who constantly reports and bans and imprisons us for pointing out the holes in all of their rules. Fact: This will continue to make you the individual smaller, and darker, and less popular and poorer until eventually the only thing left is a memory of the blood moon yasuo skins. and even those memories will start to fade... and all we have left is a broken sword...

If that doesn't sound like shit to you, then stop pretending like you give a fuck about being banned. Be Riven. Be an EXILE and bring on that banhammer! You know you like it.

Lol damn matthew. That was a Rollercoaster ride of a post. I didn't know where you were going... do you have videos of stomping in Diamond in 10 minutes? I guess I could just look it up myself... anyways, I don't know what to think of this post lol. Lots of points being made and some I agree with and others I can't quite grasp with my limited IQ.

that is entirely absurd. you need to look up the definition of the word 'sophisticated'

the reason that most "sophisticated" cheat detection methods are bad, is because they typically rely on a gray area of computing, and companies who have this type of problem typically rely on something called: "consultants"

Consultants are like plumbers who you call to fix your sink, but end up replacing your entire plumbing system, but only after learning how to do it.

(this makes no sense because many of you have not entered the work force yet)

Most you people aren't old enough to understand this, but large corporations like say Sony, hire large numbers of people who don't really do or know anything useful. When it comes time to do something even a little complicated, they then, rather than hiring people, use scam artists called "consultants" who typically charge, just absolutely and absurdly ridiculous amounts of money, to do simple poop.

Being that the corporation has few peiople who actually know anything, this simple poop is made to appear extremely complex through something called powerpoint slides and 'deliverables'

Deliverables are like a magic show, they are massive documents which contain many multi-colored pictures and diagrams, are used to baffle, bedazzle, and delight the company hiring the consultants into thinking that the consultants are doing the work of rocket scientists. (it's not surprising that many of these consultants are known as six sigma black belts, cuz they like ninja)

By the time the crummy 'anti-cheat' software is discovered to not only be illegal, but also entirely broken and dangerous to the hardware it's installed on, the consultants have been paid and the people at the company in charge of the project promoted to where they can't be fired.

Anyway, I have no idea, but I think that Riot avoids this issue by actually having people who know what they are doing as actual employees.

However sometime in the future, an executive at Riot will go golfing with someone from a consulting firm, and the magical consultants will visit Riot Games as well and the cycle will begin again....

tl;dr false positives are not the reason that most complex client side anti-cheat systems are failures. It's like saying, artificial intelligence doesn't work because Siri sucks and can't understand what I'm saying.
