Leave Buster is sort of stupid

Well I may not be a serious league of legends player but I have a few thoughts about the Leave Buster.

I wastes time (i,e: 1st ban wastes 25 min, 2nd ban 50 min etc)
Other games like Vainglory have more effective ban systems (it has a lower priority queue but it's much less time and after that you can jump right in a game)
I don't know if when a player leaves a game it affects your elo but in (I'm sorry about the Vainglory over usage) Vainglory, when a player leaves a match it won't affect your rank

If I wasn't supposed to put another game title on the forums then I'm sorry. I'd like to hear your opinions on this so yeah

Leaving games is a waste of time for all the other players that have to deal with your absence. You might have to wait 5-20 minutes for 5 games, but leaving just one match is significantly harming the experience for 9 other people for the duration of the match; basically, the damage caused by abandoning a match is much more than the wait time placed on you.

The penalty isn't just a punishment, it's there so you will fix any issues resulting in these too regular leavings, and to mitigate how much you can affect other players if you continue to queue up and leave despite the penalty.

Go play Vainglory, then.

League has long matches at times and it is very near impossible to win 4v5 most of the time. Next, a system in which someone just leaves and everyone else is allowed to leave freely would easily be abused with the duo/flex system Riot uses in match making. Leaver Buster is fine.

you leave a match 1/2 way through lets say the match coulda gone on for 40 mins you left at the 20 min marker you wasted 180 mins of other peoples time for leaving early 5 games with a max time of 20 mins is nothing but generous even that takes more than 1 leave You waste at most 100 mins per LPQ

Couldn't riot implement a command where when someone leaves a match they can surrender the game earlier?

You guys probably won't agree with me but I don't like people who afk matches and it annoys me as well

So the big problem here is it creates an incentive to actually try to get a player to quit the game if your team is losing. That's going to lead to an increase in toxicity from the playerbase, as the best strategy in a losing game becomes "make an ally leave" instead of "group up and try one or two last shots at winning." The outcome of that is definitely not desirable in the competitive experience, where tensions already often run high.
