A question of Sample size

I recently had a griefer Renekton harassing and feeding all game. His Reasoning I picked Mordekaiser Botlane. And stated he would afk if I did so. Granted I'm smurfing and get matched with other smurfs/ recently banned champions.

Our team comp was very workable and could have won the game had we not had a griefer.

In the end I swapped my mid laner who picked MF in order to appease Renekton. He still fed.

Was I in the Wrong? (Picking Morde bot?) This is the heart of what burns me. Either I'm allowed to play Morde Botlane as an APC or I'm not. I mean every game barring hard counters No in-between half answers will do.

I get tired of the out-right hate thrown my way just for playing Mordekaiser as it is. people call me the most cancerous champion in the game while kicking my ass with Tank teemo, Heimer, Yasou & Azir to list a few. Atleast my champion has the decency of fighting you face to face and not Hiding like a coward between poke ability cooldowns. What is this League of cowards? Cause it sure feels like it.

Back to that game however I have to ask Did I do the Right thing? Giving into his demands when He forced a loss anyway Ultimately everyone wants to win so they pick the most reliable BS and everything else gets ignored (hello Morde 1% playrate 47% winrate for 2 years) but somehow in diamond 1% of the 1% pick Morde APC and win 56% of the time.

Is Botlane Morde only acceptable in Plat+? If the answer is yes. This really isn't a game I want to play since 80+% of the population will openly harass me over that fact since I don't meet the prerequisite Rank.

Am I allowed to play the Champion I want even if he's Statistically unknown? My intention as always is too win. But if the sample size is soooooo small how can Riot make an assessment of a statistical anomaly. Even if that's Riots intended playstyle for the champion.

I'm getting tired of the mountain of ignorance please help I'm drowning

You're not in the wrong for taking an unconventional pick. Do not question yourself when a teammate throws a tantrum like that Renekton player.

As long as you're still trying to win when you do it then you're not in the wrong at all.

IF they politely ask, maybe you should consider listening, but if they throw a tantrum and threaten to harass or int, just ignore them. They don't deserve to be listened to and they will learn their lesson eventually when they are banned for ruining games for others by accusing others of ruining their game.

Botlane Morde isn't really viable anywhere, he is generally a top laner.

But that doesn't mean you can't play him bot, and it certainly doesn't warrant a person threatening to AFK, feed, or grief. Playing "off meta picks" will generally get you a lot of lashback and does cause some people to get angry, especially in ranked matches. If you are confident in an off meta pick in a ranked match, simply ignore them and play the game -- you will benefit from the LP game if you do well.

However if you play a good bit of Morde bottom and you start to see that his winrate isn't really that good, it may be doing more harm than good all around for both your winrate and the experience of other players.

tl;dr - Were you in the wrong? No. Could you have picked better? Yes

At the same time though, play what you want. Riot doesn't enforce the meta and police you if you pick Morde Jungle or something. If you wanna play Annie Jungle, go on ahead. As long as you play your role as intended no report SHOULD affect you since you were just playing the game as intended.

Morde isnt meta as an ADC, so the hive mind tends to cringe at the thought you can pull it off depending on the enemy team comp

Man that Leona jungle I had though... when it failed she wanted me to trade her. I was like Cait ADC or something.
