Whats the point of using obscure language in a game

ok every one has at least done this once and that is cussing in a game what's the point of getting so made that you cuss and insult its just a game, ,many argue saying its game that takes up "my" time now lets think about this you spend your time on a game you enjoy that's fine but just because things get rough does not mean you can blame others for your lose of time because its your time that YOU decided to use and that's for every one even me, so don't cuss in a game just because you get a little frustrated its just pointless. also last thing you want is to have a 12 year old playing league who goes up to his/her parents and says "mom/dad what does **** mean??"

So you meant obscene, not obscure?

Shame, I was hoping for something more given the title =p

there are chat filter and report features for a reason. you have the option to report for offensive language. in the terms of service for the game, it specifically states the game isn't directed at anyone under the age of 13, and I can guarantee you any 13 year olds out there who are gaming on the internet have seen and heard pretty much anything they'll see in game chat.

there are people out there who use words on a daily basis that you would never dream of saying. to them these words aren't a big deal. different environments breed different social standards.

in my circles, using the "F word" is commonplace and not a big deal. my parents used it around me when I was a child. my friends use it all the time. and people on the internet sure as hell use it everywhere.

words only have the power we choose to give them. if I said phreak instead of fuck, you'd still know exactly what I intended.
