What is Riot thinking?

Over the years I have noticed hundreds if not thousands of players breaking the summoners code through verbal abuse, intentionally feeding, and trolling. Since I started in season 4 it has gotten worse and worse, and it seems that riot does not care about its players. When I started, this was one of the most fun games I had ever played, everyone seemed so nice, there were so many new things to learn, and so many walls to climb to get better, but now, as a Veteran Plat player, I can assure you that this is likely the worst game I have ever played. Riot takes no consideration to the context of a game, and only act on what they see from a surface level. That nunu support that takes smite just to steal jungle camps, The ekko top who is playing on the NA server from china and is inting, the shaco top who just keeps dying in lane while flaming the other team calling them trash, then when you ask them to calm down and just play the game they call you a "degenerate %%%%%%", among other things, and constantly flame, spam ping, and int in a ranked game. You can only do the right thing and report them, but as the weeks go by, you dont see that little icon come up that says that a player has been punished for their negative behavior. In the past year I've seen maybe 1 or 2 of those pop up for me, while knowing fully well that Ive reported more than 1 or 2 people worthy of a ban. Over time, you lose faith in the tribunal system, and resort to 1 of 2 things, you can mute your team, but they can still spam ping you, or you defend yourself when they call you such horrendous things. I for one am not a person who will let people spit on my name, and demean what I put my blood, sweat, and tears into. I worked hard to get to play, and I had hopes to get to diamond, but I Sadly the game that used to be my favorite, has become a cancer in my life. I wish i had not spent a couple thousand hours, a couple hundred dollars, and my mental state, for a game and company that doesnt care about me. As sad as this makes me, I know its the right thing, its time to quit. The game I put so much into, has let me down when I was in need. I am pained, but happy to say I will never play another game of League of Legends. Your friendly sumoner -XxHeavyhitterxX

As someone who has played since PreSeason 1, the community has its ups and downs, and sometimes you just have a worse season. On the balance I'd say the community HAS improved overall since then. Riot does care though -- they're always working behind the scenes to try to improve the player experience. They can't, however, really forcibly change the playerbase.

You can only do the right thing and report them, but as the weeks go by, you dont see that little icon come up that says that a player has been punished for their negative behavior.

This is one area Riot really can improve on -- you ONLY get that report if your report is the LAST ONE that triggers the ban. I.e. if they need 2 reports to go and you report them and then, a millisecond later, another player in your game does? THAT player gets the alert instead of you. So all those reports likely did a lot -- you just didn't get the feedback.

Nice to have your input, but you really don't need to make moving on from League a public affair. People decide to move on from games all the time, if you no longer enjoy playing just stop, you don't need to make a boards post condemning the company who made the game.

Sorry you had such a negative experience. That's not fun for anyone. I myself currently will not play without at least one (and preferably more) person I know well.

FWIW: You don't always see the little window when someone gets punished--in fact, it's quite rare. You generally only see it when your report was the last one before a punishment was handed down. IIRC increasing messaging in this area is something that Riot is working on right now, because they know it's frustrating to submit several reports, get no feedback, and continue to encounter people who behave badly. My hope is that these features will roll out much sooner than later.

In any case--sorry to see you go, and good luck to you in your future endeavors!

I'm consistently let down by this games behavior system and lack of response to people throwing games. Look at my game sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DXfqiP4cR_mF1ajdlmRmqMtyZLrE_lsGwCvvjO0uRp8/edit#gid=1180632855

Hundreds of games have been affected by various incidents. I'm told "just mute and report and we'll take care of the rest". The players who do these things continue on while the game I played still got ruined and my reward for not retaliating was taking a big fat loss and wasting my time.
