I miss the tribunal

Riot, why did you hire an intern to write the bots that "review" reports? Why can't you see that literally every game that employs this tactic fails dramatically? From what I gather, insulting yourself is bannable, swearing at no one in particular is bannable, play the game and saying report the obviously-feeding teammate is bannable, playing the darn GAME is bannable.

I miss when ACTUAL PEOPLE reviewed report incidents and judged them fairly, unlike the bots you now employ so that you can save money by not paying more of your employees (KDA Akali, cough cough).

Your game is toxic because every move you make enables and encourages toxicity.

I just love the theory that, if someone is picking on you/tormenting you/making your life hell, that's fine. You're ALLOWED to defend yourself... by asking them nicely to stop. Heaven forbid you defend yourself or quote what they said.

League has become the most toxic game online, and you lot wonder why.

Also, go ahead and downvote me, as everyone who complains about the ban system seems to get.. You'll see what I mean when you get that one rando who decides to int and feed, then report YOU for asking why they are doing that.

Bots, no matter how well written, dont understand context reliably. Shit, humans seem to fail horribly at such advanced mental arts as sarcasm, correctly deducing context, or recognizing irony.

In general, there is no reason to do any of those things, and a lot of extremely toxic players hide behind excuses of humor or "just playing around".

If you received a punishment that you think is in error, feel free to post logs or send a support ticket to dispute it. Most of the time OP just turns out to be a delusional, entitled brat, and not the recipient of an erroneous punishment.

What proof do you have of this?

Pretty sure Tantram (and whomever else may have had a hand in creating the IFS) is more than just an intern. Call it a hunch, but when the guy has a full blown title and actively works on the IFS, he's probably beyond the point of being trained.

Why can't you see that literally every game that employs this tactic fails dramatically?

Got a list?

From what I gather, insulting yourself is bannable, swearing at no one in particular is bannable, play the game and saying report the obviously-feeding teammate is bannable, playing the darn GAME is bannable.

The first is unnecessary, and yes, it can be punishable (since even self-directed negativity can lower team morale), the second is false, the third is unnecessary and also punishable (since consistently rallying for reports can be considered harassment), and the last is a poor use of hyperbole.

I miss when ACTUAL PEOPLE reviewed report incidents and judged them fairly, unlike the bots you now employ so that you can save money by not paying more of your employees (KDA Akali, cough cough).

Whenever people chalk up the introduction of the IFS (which has been around for a while now, by the way) to greed and cutting costs, I have a hard time taking it seriously.

D'you know why the Tribunal got iceboxed and replaced with the IFS? Because it was slow, unreliable, and couldn't be incentivized without risking people just spamming "punish" for easy rewards.

It was unpopular enough that some people were getting punishments months after they committed the offense, and not only that, it built up a massive backlog to boot.

And how, pray tell, do you think the IFS' judgements are unfair? Can you provide at least five examples of unfair punishments, or are you just assuming it's unfair because of a few posts making baseless claims and not providing their chat logs?

Your game is toxic because every move you make enables and encourages toxicity.

And your proof of this is...?

I just love the theory that, if someone is picking on you/tormenting you/making your life hell, that's fine. You're ALLOWED to defend yourself... by asking them nicely to stop. Heaven forbid you defend yourself or quote what they said.

You don't even need to ask them nicely to stop. Hell, you don't even need to ask them at all.

Y'know what you do?

Mute, report, move on.

Not a word to them, and you can shut them out easily. And reporting them makes sure that they get punished for picking on you.

As for defending yourself - provide an example where someone actually defended themselves, and didn't retaliate. 'Cause that's a distinction to note; Self-defense and retaliation are two different things.

And as for quoting what they said; if you are being bullied by someone, if someone is being rude to you, and you know that they're breaking the rules, what good does it do you to quote the lines that are in breach of the rules?

i mean, if they made people do it, how would you feel to be banned by some SJW because you said something that triggers them personally. yeah idk about that one.

The person who wrote the bots is a full time employee, backed by a team of psychologists and software engineers at Riot.

All of them make 6 figures to my knowledge.

The only thing of your list that is bannable is the asking for reports - that is harassment and is completely useless as more reports do nothing. Of the other two things, the only time they'd be punishable is if they are so frequent as to create negativity and distract from the game.

In response to all of the mute recommendations: I don't think muting someone is a very good solution. This does not prevent this person from harassing your team, or the other team, and turning them against you. They most likely can, and will continue to point out every mistake you make to turn your team against you. League has no way to leave a game without being punished, so it isn't even like you can leave. Muting is simply a band-aid that most likely won't save you. Someone being harassed really has few options to stop it other than waiting and hoping their report matters. It can be frustrating, in fact, I hardly chat at all in league for that reason, I don't want to risk getting banned over something silly. Just my thoughts on the mute solution, take it as you will.

“From what I gather, insulting yourself is bannable” Toxicity of any sort and the use of zero tolerance phrases is bannable. No toxicity means no toxicity.

“swearing at no one in particular is bannable” Swearing at no one will never result in punishment.

“play the game and saying report the obviously-feeding teammate is bannable” Asking for additional reports is harassment and accomplished nothing. One report does the same thing as nine reports.

“playing the darn GAME is bannable.” I’ve played for five years and have never received any kind of punishment, like most other players.
