Since Surrender is a feature, why do I get reported for wanting to use it?

When we lose a game, there is always a person people want to blame. I usually ask to surrender when it's an obvious 1 sided stomp game to save some time. These are normal games I'm talking about. People say I'm raging and a have bad sportsmanship because of asking to surrender. I'm not flaming or aggressive, literally just stating the fact that the game is a loss and maybe we could save some time by surrendering and playing a new game.

You can be reported for anything, but that doesn't mean that you will be punished for anything. If all you are doing is just asking for a surrender, then you shouldn't worry about being reported for it because you're not going to be punished.

just like taunting your opponents is bannable even though they put 'taunt' and 'laugh' in the game

As long as you're not flaming or aggressive I wouldn't report you for it (and I doubt you'll get punished for it). That said, it is really detrimental to morale when somebody tries to convince the team that they have no chance of actually winning, so I hope that you are mature enough to just let it go, if your first attempt didn't work. Some people don't like to surrender; and you'll have to accept that as much as other people have to accept your opinion as well.

Because Riot lets the community decide what unsportsmanlike means.

Surrendering once shouldnt be reportable, but in my opinion it is when people are constantly spamming surrender votes and saying gg because that's a very negative attitude.
