The Ranked System

Dear Riot, I have encountered a problem with the ranked system that has been disrupting me from ranking up from my current rank. I have fond that every time I win a game in bronze 4 I will win about 13 LP and I lose 25 LP. That just seems like you are punishing people like me for little mistakes of losing a game too harshly. When I rank up to Bronze 4 from Bronze 5, I notice that i get a healthy 20 won and 20 lost. I just don't understand why you are punishing me for my slight slip ups. I know I'm not the best player, but I think that this LP gap is too much and makes it almost impossible to rank up because you have to win 2 games to make up for 1 loss, and maybe that one loss was because of a toxic player or an AFK. I just think you are harshly punishing people for small mistakes and making it harder for them to show how good they really are, and not be criticized for their low Elo that they may have gotten because of this flaw. I think at most low leagues; Bronze, Silver, Gold, there should always be an equal amount of LP gained and lost, and it should take exactly 35 wins in a row to get to the next league. So please Riot, close this gap so players don't feel that it is even harder to get to higher leagues. The LP gap should be equal. Thank you for reading this letter, magicness97

The reason it's set up like that is to keep people from climbing beyond their skill level. Don't take this as an insult, it happens to a lot of people.

Luckily, it's "easy" to fix (You'll see why I put that in quotes in a bit). First off, take a look at your W/L ratio. Right now you're sitting at a 45% win ratio. If you can get that to 50%, it'll make it easier to climb. That's why I say "easy". It doesn't sound hard, and it won't always be. But you can never be too sure. Honestly as long as you can win 2 games for every 1 lose, you'll average out eventually.

Also I peeked at your MMR. It's not bad for where you are but just a bit under the average. That's why your gains/loses have a gap like that. The closer you are to the average MMR for your league the more balanced your LP will get. If your MMR starts getting higher than the average you'll start gaining more LP because the system will have noticed your improvements and give you a little nudge up to keep you matched with equal skilled players.

tl;dr: Focus on improving your gameplay as much as possible. Watch some youtube videos or some streamers on Twitch. The better you get, the higher your MMR will get. The higher your MMR, the easier it will be to climb out.

Edit: Also, probably the wrong board section to post this in. I think Gameplay would be better. Just for future reference.
