I don't really understand this ban and reward system.

So, i was getting tons of key fragments for honors, GG's, shotcallers, Stay cool. I hit gold where people flame an unbelievable amount. I get 24 game chat restriction for trying to get my team to calm down. I made the mistake of telling our jungle to "stop being a c" One time, realized I used the wrong terminology. The entire team proceeded to flame me and my duo while we try to defuse the situation.

This is legit the only game in the report session. My last chat restriction included a game that was me apologizing for playing so bad because nunu's playstyle was trash for me. Like, what is determined to be toxic, and what is not determined to be toxic?

Note, I'm not trying say I don't deserve this mute or anything like that, we just need a better outline of what WILL get you punished and what wont get you punished. Is the best way to go around this to just mute the team and go about your business? If that's the case, why is this kind of system even in place? It seems counterintuitive, because communication wins games.

The best advice is to not type at all. Just mute and focus on yourself.

Second best advice: don't give a shit and just play for your own sake

that's just so annoying. I don't understand why that is our best possible route =(

It's not. But the honor system is a reward for good behavior, not a buffer against bad behavior. When you behave poorly (such as calling someone the degrading word you used) you both acquire the appropriate punishment AND lose the rewards for showing good behavior.

You can't realistically give a clear cut list of what will and will not lead to punishment. The reason why is after that people will skirt the line and go, "I'm not technically breaking any rules."

If it's not something you would say to a stranger, then it's safe to assume you should use it in league.
