Perma banned.

Hello Riot! After 5 years of League of Legends I finally got perma banned for toxicity reasons. (THE FOLLOWING TEXT IS NOT A CRY FOR HELP OR MERCY!! I WANT TO POINT THIS OUT! :D) I'm not trying to find any excuses for my behaviour, because clearly I'm bad at mastering my emotions while playing. I'm dealing with anxiety since my first year of college, and league of legends was the only thing helping me get through the day without thinking about my condition. I don't ask for mercy or anything, I'm just sharing my little story now, in the end of this journey. I know I've made mistakes and I know I got warned but, what I wanted to point out is that most of my games are Rank S. Most of my games are filled with crazy-tourette syndrome people that tilt us and make us toxic. I just wanted to say that I have never intentional fed, I have never stopped trying to win, or go afk, and I have never insulted someone without reasons. I know every feedback is about what I said in the game, but did anyone ever checked WHY I said that, or, what started the "insulting behaviour"? I mean, I don't start calling someone "useless" for no reason. Everytime I'm "flaming" they troll, they call us silvers, retards, and other curses, while they have scores like 3-16 (and they say they are diamond smurfing) but we are the ones banned, because we don't waste our time reporting, as we are focusing on the game. But those type of people always report us, and we get banned and muted, cause we are telling them what to do. There is no excuse for swearing but for the love of God and what's mighty, don't just punish us without even checking who started, the scores, how the game went, etc etc. (I'M NOT TEACHING YOU WHAT TO DO) I'm just saying hehe... I mean, I have "wasted" so much time struggling to climb and be better at a game that rewards you with a permanent ban because in 3 of your games in one week, you told someone to stop intentional feeding, they keep doing it, you lose your time, your patience, you report them maybe in the end but surprise, they are not getting restricted. We are. Whatever. Thank you for your time and thank you for letting me share my feelings with you. It seems that in the end it didn't even matter. Your friendly neighbour Keyobmx!

Make new account, buy IP/XP and new skins. Profit.

On the real note, I already imagine how you told guys you been playing for 5 years and you don't care because you are invincible to punishments.

Hey there,

I feel your pain and that sounds really frustrating, but I'd also like bring your attention to one particular thing:

{quoted}

but we are the ones banned, because we don't waste our time reporting, as we are focusing on the game.

it is actually more time efficient to mute the player and focus on the game, and then report them afterwards.

Now, I'm not victim blaming here. I know that other players can be extremely frustrating at times, but you're not saving yourself from stress if you continue to interact with those players. And we have to be responsible for our own actions, it is almost always better to make that choice to mute instead of flame. It's our responsibility as players, and it makes the game a better place when we don't fill chat with our own admonishments and negativity.

Plus it's a game for fun. If you're getting too upset while playing it then it's not really fulfilling it's intended purpose of providing you with fun, so maybe it is good to not play for a while. You can always make a new account and come back to it when you feel ready to deal with that again.

I've been through my own spats of anxiety and stress in college as well. By no means am I suggesting we are the same or that I understand you perfectly, but I'd like to recommend something to you that helped me greatly:

I'm fairly certain colleges are required to provide students with counseling and psychological services. Going to a therapist periodically during my college days helped me to better handle my own anxiety and process difficult or stressful situations I encountered during my time there. You may find that getting similar help will aid you in dealing with your anxiety.

Best of luck to you, Hal,

I understand your frustration when dealing with players like that.

Ultimately, however, the actions of other people have no bearing on how you choose to respond. Unlike a physical attack in the real world, there is no point in League where you have to respond, so there is no actual self-defense. Anything you choose to say or do that increases the toxicity of the game is a contribution you have made to that toxic environment. Even if another player is feeding or attempting to provoke you, you always have the option to remain silent.

I also know that it can sometimes feel that Riot does not take actions against intentional feeders. There are three reasons for this.

The first is that intentional feeding is actually somewhat difficult to confirm. It's untenable to hire someone to review any game, so the system make sure it can accurately identify feeding before issuing a punishment. This means some players get away with it a couple times before they're caught.

The second is that the human brain processes negative experiences differently than it processes positive ones. As such, your average player remembers intentional feeders as a far greater occurrence than it remembers games that don't have them. Yes, there are more than I would like there to be, but it's not quite as frequent occurrence as some players claim.

The third is that report confirmation could use an increase in clarity. Currently only one person gets the message that a player was banned for every player who is punished. This can be frustrating in cases of feeding especially, we're usually most players on a team end up reporting the player in question. Combining this with the first point, it's entirely possible that a player feeds in three separate games, gets reported by nearly 20 players, and only one of them gets the message.

I would like to assure you, though, that Riot does take intentionally feeding seriously. We see cases on this board all the time we're players feed in a fashion that is easy for the system to identify, and end up banned after only a single occurrence. Whenever they can confirm it, they are fairly merciless.
