Champion select

Hello dear summoners, so I wanted to play a ranked game. Everything went completly normal, I wanted to play bot, I got mid as my second role, no hard thoughts on that, but our bot laner locked his . You might say, well he was maybe trying to swap champs, but no, he intended to play that vs and , so as I felt I am not in a mood for losing, I dodged the game, and guess what, i got a 30 min ban until I can queue up again. So please tell me, whats your opinion on that, should I still play that game, or not, should riot do some sh*t to prevent this players to lock such troll picks... Ty for your time.
