Banning Champs Declared

In my opinion I do not care in the slightest if someone wants to ban my pick. Riot does not care either. You are not entitled to that champion nor does the champion you want have your name on it. If someone bans your pick it is most likely a strategic one and even if it is not you should learn to play more than just one champion. It is never the banners fault for doing what the banning phase was intended to do. If you hard throw and complain about "my" champion being banned then you are not cut out for games that involve other players that do not always think the way you do.

feel like this is a slippery slope of a conversation.

Pick intent is to display who you want to play. Unsure why my teammates would ban something I'm displaying im capable with. on the flip side, i agree, ban out the cancer.

but we're constantly hearing from higher elo players 1 trick, or have 2-3 champs you're great with. Don't handicap your teammate by taking away one of their carries.

I thought this was going to be a completely different post by the title. Good for you, being someone that understands the point of draft pick.

I wouldn't go that far. There are, after all, people who do intentionally ban certain champions to spite their teammates. And pissing off your teammates is certainly not what the banning phase was intended to do. You can't even ban champions the enemy team doesn't have, so evidently the purpose of the banning phase is in no way linked to banning your own team's champions. It's always just been a side effect.

Other than that, I agree. Clearly there is never a reason to intentionally sabotage the game, and complaining for the entire rest of the game achieves nothing either. If you know - if you really know - that somebody was actively trying to piss you off with their ban choice, then that sucks, but the easiest solution at that point is to just dodge the game.

I agree. If my teammate who wants Zed gets to pick last, I ban him. I don't want to risk having to fight him

If you ban someones pick because theyre unlikely to get it and its a high chance to be used against you and turn the game: youre fine, though you should probably communicate your reasoning.

If you ban someones pick because you dont like what they picked: youre scum.

Theres no two ways about it.

Well on draft it is certanily a jerk move. Even if, that champion is seriously annoying, or OP.. Losing on draft is not that painful.

For ranked it could be strategic depending on where is that person in the pick order. If something is gamebreaking OP at the moment, then i don't care, if the last pick wana bring it. I won't risk it in enemy team.

Last time i had such was in the old ban system after Xin got a buff, that brought him 100% banrate. He was just ridicilously OP, that pretty much nobody dared to risk play against it. For weeks there was no other data about him except, the 100% ban rate.

I mean no.... lol banning some ones champ normally means the player banning is toxic and doesn't want them to play it or the player wasn't paying attention and banned it by accident which is normally the case the shit I can't stand is when someone mental booms because if it and don't calm tf down when the enemy also bans it that shit is frustrating.

Just throwing this out there, if i look at your account and you have a 30% w/r on a champ with like 150+ games on it, or a 12% with even like 30 and super bad kdas, im banning that cause its basically saying yeah when this person plays this champ they lose 70% of the time so that's not really a chance i wanna take.
