What should you do if your teammate screws you over in the picking phase?

So I just played with a pyke who told me he would swap with me. I asked what champion he wanted, and while waiting for a response I changed my runes to what I would use on pyke. I don't get a response before my timer reaches 0, so I pick jarvan (he's the only one that I own that I know is a jungler) and tell him that since he didn't respond he gets this champion. I press swap and... He doesn't swap. Instead he just puts a smileyface in the chat. The picking phase is over, I have bad runes for my champion and I have to support with Jarvan (I was assigned this).

What should I do in this situation?

If they dont tell you what they want, dont pick for them.

Don't do "swap" . and you have 30 sec to swap your runes. Jav 4 can be a good support and you assume your teammates can use Jav4???. By the way, if you are not owning many champions, don't DO SWAP. Learn a lesson

I almost always dodge in situations like this. Just pick your champ if hes not going to answer.
