Perma bans... are they really fair?

Necromancer1221·1/15/2016, 1:21:22 AM·1 votes·692 views

Hey guys, first off... im not toxic... and i have never been banned. Anyways, moving on, don't you think it is a little cruel to perma ban an account, when they spent money on league? A friend of mine spent +$100 on league, and his account got perma banned. He tried to reason with riot, but they never even responded.... Your probally saying "well he was very toxic, then." and your incorrect. Ive never seen him say anything like, "kill yourself", only "reallyy......" and etc... just wandering your opinions! Not really... i mean.... there is only 1 right opinion! xD just kidding :P

He was given a 10 game chat restriction, 25 day chat restriction, and a 2 week ban. How many chances does your friend want, ffs?

Another way to word what you wrote is "shouldn't you be able to break the rules as long as you bribe Riot first?" Obviously that's not right, therefore it doesn't make sense to allow any exceptions based on money spent on the game.

You only get permabanned if you use scripts, are regularly toxic (going through the 4 strikes system), or are very toxic (which causes you to skip strikes).

Regardless of it being fair or not (it is), as soon as you install the game and enter the login and blah blah, you're agreeing to the game's terms of service, which have the indications and punishments lined up.

They broke this particular game's rules and got punished, so, yes, it is fair, regardless of how much he may or may have not spent in his account.

If he doesn't know how to reform when he got his first 3 punishment, then the permaban is deserved. He's asking for it.

It doesn't matter how much money one spends on the game, as paying players are treated exactly the same as non-paying players are by Riot (in other words, paying players do not get special leniency on the rules just because they spend money on the game). As for your question at hand yes, I do think that they're fair as if a toxic/jerk player is allowed to keep playing then they're just ruining the experiences of tons of other players for their inability/unwillingness to not be a jerk to others. Not only that, but not only would they also drive players away from the game, but without a permaban they'd get the impression that Riot is perfectly fine with them being a trolling jerk to others in their game.

For your friend in particular, unless he posts his Reform Card in these forums then we'll be unable to help the two of you understand why he was banned. The only ones who know why he was banned are himself and Riot, but most likely it was because he consistently displayed a negative attitude in a large majority of his games, and also refused to change his behavior for the better after being chat restricted for at least 35-games and banned from the game for 2-weeks as well.

They should know what they are getting into since they have to agree to the ToS when they install the game and after every patch.

Perma-bans are perfectly fine. It doesn't matter how much money you have spent if you violate the Terms of Service.

The people who complain about getting perma-banned are also people who likely clicked "I agree" with out reading the terms of service. RIOT doesn't care if you play for free or spend thousands of dollars. You break the rules, you get punished. You keep doing it, you get perma-banned. Deal with it.

This means YOU: Toxic Players, Trolls, Hatemongers, Sore Losers, AFKers, Leavers, Boosters, Hackers, etc... If it was up to me I would IP block in addition to perma-ban.

I don't even think smurfs should be allowed.

Can someone explain to me what this post is even about?

As much as you guys say it is fair, he wasnt that toxic... honestly, i never saw him say anything toxic but joking around, or and occasional "wtf"

You know what's really unfair? Keeping a behaviour that gets you permabanned.

ShaftyMegee1/15/2016, 1:33:41 AM1 votes

Riot reserves the right to do what ever it wants with its game, including banning people.

Shit man I hate the word fair, what's fair in life? The only fair thing I know is math.

Let me put it like this...

I buy tickets for a sport match (doesn't matter what sport) and during that match I climb over the fence and start running on the field and hug my favorite player. Police caught me and send me to jail. Is it fair that I don't get to watch the rest of the match even though I paid for my ticket?

my main account was banned till jan 1st, 2600 back in like 2012 or 2013. and i know i spent over $1000 on it. well it was permabanned back then with no real explaination as to why it was banned in the first place. i try once a year to get them to unban it but still no luck. havent spent a dime since....... but hackers i agree should be banned but perma is just stupid considering most are smurfs anyways and that it seems at least 2 players in every game are hacking, so thats a easy 5th of the league players in total.
