I was banned on accident

Greetings all,

I wanted to make a post on a forum to explain my situation because I feel like I'm getting automated responses in the support emails.

My account recently had a 2 week suspension a couple of months ago, and I accepted the ban because I felt it was needed. I was really aggressive towards other players and would pin the blame on them every time I had a chance. I would flame, and AFK a few times, and throw games on purpose because of my ego. So I received a 2 week suspension and during that time tried my best to reform my attitude when I played ranked games. I never blame team mates for losses any more because of this, I only try and help and offer my advice, and if they're unwilling to accept it I don't force it down their throat, I just move on. I don't argue and I don't flame, and I'll never throw a game on purpose.

The other day, I received a permanent ban on my main account. This bothers me mainly because, throughout the years, I believe I have purchased over $4,500.00 worth of RP on that account. On top of that, the reason behind why I got banned was from me quoting a youtube video, towards my friend who was on Skype with me at the time in game.

Now for those of you who haven't seen the video yet, there's a player playing Sion in the top lane and he has a denial of reality by being this extremely uncooperative player. My friend and I found this funny and since I didn't have my mic on at the time I was responding to him in the game chat by using the quotes the Sion made to make a joke.

What I'm guessing happened is Riot has a chat analyzing bot that picked up what I said and flagged it, and because of that my account received another flag and therefore a permanent suspension. I don't feel like its deserved because I've changed my attitude and become a better player, I've even climbed up from Silver to Gold in that time and was continuing on towards higher elos since my 2 week suspension, all because I feel like I've become a more supportive player on my team (literally played support for like 50 games in a row).

Anyway, I hope making this post on a forum will somehow make this better known to a Riot Employee because I can't seem to reach anyone through twitter, or the Riot Support through the League of Legends website.

TL;DR My account received a permanent ban because I was quoting a Youtube video of a guy who was flaming his teammate.

Packie: he literally doesnt do any damage at all

(There was no response to anything I said, except for the random Caitlyn on our team who I had linked the video to in champ select who thought the video was funny too and was responding to me in the same way I was talking.)

Packie: no
Packie: this zac so bad lol     <-Zac was on the enemy team and made a play where he ulted no one (said this in team chat)
Packie: let u die
Packie: whats ur point?
Packie: ur pushing bot lane 1v3

Like, I understand what I was saying may have been offensive, but I wasn't being TOXIC. I still played the game and did everything a normal player would do, I don't think I deserve to be PERMANENTLY banned for this and if its breaking rules which I know it is now... I won't be doing it again (obviously, because I'm banned), but if I had a second chance I wouldn't do anything like this again.

So you got banned for being "toxic". So when you get off being banned you spam "you're a fucking idiot" in chat.

Frequency. People have been banned if the game right after their 14 day ban was punish worthy.

Your whole chat logs was really negative. Already name-calling people at start of the game with "idiot" and "useless", being passive-aggressive, and you had to call someone being "bad". I get things can be frustrating, but being toxic such as this does no good.

Oh, and next time, no need to elaborate how the chat log goes. The punishment is solely based on your chat logs alone, no reasoning required for it.

The game hadn't even started yet we were waiting to leash for our jungler, it didn't matter who their adc was it could have been teemo. Insert <Teemo> to <Lucian>. It could have been anyone I didn't mean it towards that player directly just their character.

As for the Zac thing I mean, I wasn't frustrated I was just making a remark towards his bad play. People like Phreak himself in his streams calls people out on their 'fail' actions as well, he curses and should be considered "TOXIC" then right? I mean he works for Riot, does that mean he's exempt?

As for the chat log I had to make it clear and evident that it was as soon as the game started so there was no way I could have been saying these things as a response to something that had happened in game.

No, they had no reason to think I was directing at them, Caitlyn (who wasn't my duo) was laughing because I'd shown them the video in champ select and was saying things with me. I'm sure they got reported too.

I wish there could be some kind of other punishment like not being able to play Ranked games or being permanently muted or having an indefinite Chat Restriction because I don't make people lose games I'm not a toxic person that feeds intentionally, that's what a perma-ban should be for.

My accounts worth $4,500.00 I really think this should be looked over.

You say that you made a joke by quoting the Sion in the chat but at no time during this video do I see anyone tying in the chat anything that the Sion was saying.

i do love how the guys moma comes in and blasts him though lol.

Ok i read your chat logs. The thing is whether it was a joke or not. You cant assume all on your team watched the ideo just because you put the link in your champ select chat. I dont think there was any chat detection here...someone on your team reported you. And the people who go over the reports have no clue what you were doing or why.....they just see you saying "you're an idiot."

After already being punished I do not even see why you would even risk do that even jokingly.

Though it sucks because in this case you were not being toxic....your past history just came back on you.

I understand that people may not have watched it, or even the people who reviewed the ban watched it, but I still wasn't being toxic I don't think it should count as a strike on my account.

You have to get reported before the bot will do anything, therefore someone in the game thought your chat was uncalled for.

since I didn't have my mic on at the time I was responding to him in the game chat by using the quotes the Sion made to make a joke.

And that's what the /msg or /r command is for, so that you can say things like you probably were without the other members of the team hearing.

I guess I must have really bad luck then, because my friends say plenty worse things than me at times and have received 0 repercussions, like not even a 1 game chat restriction or a warning for that matter.

Yet I've gone all the way to a permanent ban, and I haven't done any flaming etc. (edit: RECENTLY)

I remember the time one of my accounts got banned accidentally.

O wait... they have never been banned. Strange............ Guess that not typing hate messages in chat works after all. Who knew.....

To be fair this account has had a couple of chat restrictions and maybe even a 1 or 2 day ban. I used to play ranked drunk on this account and was a pretty toxic PoS. My account got in trouble and I new I was the problem. Anyways cleaned up my act and still got season rewards and have not got punished in over a year. Idk if my account is back at good standing, but its definitely not in really poor standing.

If your account had than many suspensions and chat restrictions you should have cleaned up your act. You also need to be smarter and not quote toxic stuff in chat even if its a joke. Its common sense really.

riots ban system does not ban unless someone reports.

so whoever was on your team was offended and reported you, and you got perma banned for it. the thing with being on skype and typing in chat is there is no way for your teammates to know that, so someone sees you type hate filled messages and reports you, they obviously felt uneasy being on the team with you, and now those same messages that were a joke but the person didnt know are flagged by the system, because of the report. the system also does not know you are on skype with a friend joking. it sees hate, and a report, and bans you.

the solution. dont reply in chat to stuff said on skype, and dont reply on skype to stuff said in chat.

That solution doesn't help me at all, because I got permanently banned. I won't be making another account or anything like that either this'll be the end of the line for gaming for me if I don't get my account back because I've invested over 4 grand into the account.

based on the very first line said in your chatlog i would not count on getting unbanned. sometimes riot does unban people, but thats very rare, and an uphill battle for a few weeks with support, and even then, only very very few, like 1 or 2 per year that get unbanned. and definitely no one with such aggressive chatlogs.
