Recently, I have been banned by Riot claiming that I used a third party program. Now, the only thing I could think about being anything near to a third party program is Curse, a program supposedly approved by Riot, and only adds an overlay to change the volume of your calls. Is Curse classified as a third party program? If so, I will know in the future not to use it while I play League. A response from a Rioter would be ideal.

DrCyanide1 votesVoice chat systems are 100% OK. Riot has never banned someone for having Skype, Discord, or Teamspeak. The only type Curse Voice was an issue was when it tried to add Jungle Timers, but that's been cleared up for years.

OGBleach1 votesKnow that I am not angry at Riot, I would just like a question answered. I have heard from other sections of the Boards that Riot has made a few mistakes with bans, but if that is the case, I will not criticize, everybody does make mistakes after all.
DrCyanide1 votesCurse is fine. Riot has Curse installed on computers at their office, it wasn't Curse that set it off.

DrCyanide1 votesRioters recommend Championify as a way to manage item sets until the new client has the feature, it's fine (and will likely be fine after that point too).
What counts as a third party program would be macros and scripts/hacks. If it tries to make it easier for you to actually play the game then it's probably an issue. If it only provides the same information that you could get by visiting a website like OP.GG, lolking, or others then it's fine.
If someone else used your account and they used scripts/hacks/macros that could be the cause of the ban. This would include friends or hackers. Not all hackers change the password either, my friend had someone hack his account and the hacker tried to pretend nothing was wrong or different.
OGBleach1 votesWhat kind of scripts are there? I only know of skill shot based scripts, and I have never used any. I did have a friend though, who had the same issue as I, but was able to get his account back. Thank you for clearing up some things, though.
DrCyanide1 votesI'm not an expert on scripts, but from what I know they include fully automated bots (typically to get an account to level 30), skillshot firing, skillshot dodging, CS assistance, always on range indicators (yourself and enemies), etc.
Basically there's no way that you accidently install something like that.
