So, uh, can I request a permanent chat restriction?

I'm pretty toxic. I'd like to think I could get better or restrain myself but it's readily apparent I can't. I've been banned before and I'm sure I'm headed down the same road again. I love the game too much to quit so another ban won't stop me from playing.

When I was banned, I went from no warning, restriction, etc to perma'd in one go. Could I proactively request a permanent chat restriction on my account? Anything I could do on my end I know I'd undo and wouldn't work.

Sorry, Riot doesn't grant permanent chat restrictions.

There are several methods you might try using to limit or prevent your chat;

  • Muting any playing that appears to be negative, before they become a greater issue.
  • "/mute all" at the start of every game, so that even initial negativity doesn't get to you.
  • Move the chat window off the screen.
  • Edit the config file to shrink the window down to nothing (move the size slider in-game reverts it).
  • Use a 3rd party app to change your Enter key so you cannot use it to send messages in-game.

Beyond that I don't think there's much you can do. If you cannot muster the willpower to not revert these blocks there's not much anyone can do; if the game/community becomes too stressful for you, take a break from the game to cool down. You might just go do something else for a while, or even not play the game for a few months. Find something relaxing to do after a bad game so it's not happening back-to-back. If you need, ask a friend to intervene and help.

you can get into custom game make your chat small then drag it to the right corner so it can be nearly invisible then unbind enter button and play without chat :)

Sadly its the only possible way right now :(

you can unbind your enter key. they dont issue perma chat bans cause people tend to start trolling or griefing in other ways when they cant flame

Short answer. No. Every couple of days people ask for the same thing. Riot is clear on it.
