How do you protect your KDA *AND* not violate summoner's code in this situation?

Here's the situation. It's 8 minutes into the match and you are 4/0 in lane. The other lanes are starting to lose and the Zed mid decides he's had enough and ragequits, disconnecting. The Hecarim jungle, seeing what Zed has done, decides he's done too and will walk around on the fountain platform until the game resolves. This is all by 8 minutes. By 14 minutes the ADC decides she's had enuff and will mimic the jungler's behavior.

How do you continue from this point trying to protect your stats for your champion but -ALSO- not violate summoner's code.

Here are the options:

  1. Play as normal tryharding in a 2v5. This is both not fun and won't end with anything but your stats being rekt. If the enemy team decides to run up the score instead of ending fast you can get really ruined as you are waiting for at least the 20 minute mark to forfeit, and if you are being trolled by intentional AFK who vote no on the surrenders you could be in for as much as another 10 minutes or so.
  2. Follow suit and AFK like the others. This one is a summoner's code violation and a potential punishment.
  3. Build tank and try to ride out the storm. This one could get you flagged for building troll items and ultimately result in punishment for griefing.
  4. Ask other team to end plz. I heard this is against the rules too and could get you flagged for assisting enemy team.

I was in this kind of game today and honestly didn't know what to do. It's not just the players here, it's a toxic game system design that leads to situations like this.

Your stats are meaningless. If you do terrible in one game, it's not going to absolutely ruin your averages. Being so concerned about stats is only going to stress you out too much, and clearly you are concerned with being reported. If you walk on eggshells too much, you're going to burst under pressure in a bad game where you do get wrecked, and most likely say things you'll regret. So improve your performance each game, but don't stress over your KDA. KDA doesn't actually show skill, and even a death can contribute to the team and might even be a good play late game if your death leads to your team scoring an ace.

Who are you again?

Literally the only stat that matters at all is games won. Your Average KDA doesn't help you climb, your Average CS doesn't help you climb, your wards placed doesn't help you climb. It doesn't matter if it's important to you, it's not important to Riot.

Now, you can use stats to gauge how you're doing and to find places where you can improve, but under no circumstances should you be basing everything you do on stats.

Uhh bud, not everyone even plays ranked. But hey, great attitude! If Riot doesn't care what its player base cares about, why the fuck am I playing their game at all?

Literally the only stat that matters at all is games won.

"Fun" isn't a stat. It's vital to the game, yes, but not a stat.

Your stats are meaningless

I replied to this concept by saying:

Okay, who the fuck are you to say what is meaningful and important to me?

To which you replied regarding stats.

I replied to you under the impression that the conversation was about what is and is not important to players, like myself, when playing League, not limiting the discussion to League stats specifically.

And in spite of all of this, I may not give a fuck about winning games if I don't have fun or do well. This doesn't mean that I am not giving every game 100% effort to try to win, but I may not care about what anyone else says about League.

*Note that this doesn't represent me personally, it's just an example. I'm arguing on behalf of the possibly large portion of the community that does not play ranked or care about winning to the same degree that someone who plays ranked does.

Wave clear to the best of your ability, don't push up without vision, and if the enemy team moves to contest an objective you have to give it to them. Its just like if there are 5 people bot lane and your team isn't there to help. Get away from the tower, staying will only guarantee your death. It may feel like you aren't doing much but it is literally all you can do in a 2v5.

This is basically option 1 and what I did. But it still resulted in me getting 4 man ganked several times while I just tried to get the safest possible farm. It resulted in the match ending with several deaths and ruined stats. Meanwhile enemy team was actually encouraged to behave as such cuz they wanted S grades for tokens.

That's where you are wrong. You don't play normally. You play ultra conservative. If you're dying then you aren't playing conservatively enough.

Also, why do you care about preserving your stats in a 2v5? There's no chance you are going to get an S just being 4/0 and no one cares what your stats are. I track all my stats (I literally have an excel spreadsheet with stats from over 1500 games) and I could care less what my stats are in an individual game.

You're right in that I could have potentially played more conservative. However, this works only to a point before effectively I might as well just be AFK too. Really all you can do is attempt to farm while doing your best to ensure you have enough vision to avoid a roving 4-5 man gank squad. This was particularly compounded for me by playing a champion with 0 mobility against a team with several high mobility champions and severely inadequate vision due to my own wards being the only effective vision and merely placing them could put me at extreme risk.

And I wasn't in it for the S. But I do prefer to keep running stats across on my games for specific champions. It's also the principle of it. I find it very demoralizing to be forced to continue playing normally knowing my stats are only gonna plummet from there on out and the game is an inevitable loss at that point anyway. In any other game I'd log out and quit, but here you get punished for that.

Tell the enemy team mid is open and try farming the jungle while running away from any potential fights. Just let them end the game and dont kill any minions

This is option 4 + option 1. Potentially reportable and against the rules for assisting enemy team. Also by still attempting to farm you are still risking them dogpiling you.

The first step is banning Zed so Zed can't afk in the first place. After that you need to chat with the support about how much you think they are an awesome person and try to find out more details of their life. If they live in your area you should consider meeting up for a beer at the pub, and maybe a game of cards.

P.S. As long as you are not a straight white male or solo queueing the summoners code doesn't actually apply to you.

You explain the situation to the enemy team in all chat then declare an open mid. After this you can either chill in the fountain or just go farm a sidelane while you wait. If it's a ranked game then there is no way the enemy won't push down mid

Again, this is option 4, and could get you flagged by rito's ban bot for assisting enemy team. I imagine that simply typing the phrase 'open mid' you put yourself in jeopardy; just as if you type 'report ' or 'this nidalee is a sorry a n____ loving f_____ sack of s___ c_________!'.

wrong. if its 2v5 then it should be okay. but it wont be.

that isnt how riot does things. they dont look at context at all. thats how you can get banned for joking around with your friends or for defending yourself from a rager or troll.

i would bet a lot that saying "open mid" in a 2v5 game counts against you exactly the same as a regular game.

This is actually true. You guys can downvote all you want but if leaverbuster flags you then you receive punishment, end of story. It literally does not matter what anyone else does, at least to Riot.

Just farm and passively assist the enemy win by not stopping them to avoid pointless deaths. They are going to win anyways in a 2v5. 4v5s are hard enough to win. Not a whole lot a top/support can do against a whole team. The usual problem is trying to surrender with fountain campers as they will not vote or vote against surrender trapping you in the game. So just letting the enemy team take towers and win is your only real choice to avoid being trapped in a losing game.

The enemy will notice the mia's and may report them. Dont say/imply to report them cause thats harassment.

I usually ask when on the enemy team where X is if I havent seen them for 5+ minutes because even a farm jungler pokes their head out once in a while after lvl 6. Even if its an easy win I dont like afks ruining a game by making it easy. I'd go play against bots if I wanted easy mode.
