Instant Feed Back System fail

So I was playing a normals match when in champ select i chose my champ (Cait), locked in, then proceeded to the bathroom with haste. When we get into game I noticed that we had a jinx and janna top lane. Asked them if i should just go top rather then try and solo bot lane. To which I was then called gay for insta locking. we had a short dialogue back and fourth to which Janna then calls me a %%%got. I hadn't called anyone names or been rude. I told them if they want to be rude I could just feed the vayne or go afk. So then the ahri rallied the enemy team to request that I get reported after the game for no reason. Ill attach the chat logg that Riot deemed inappropriate. Would love to get a proper reason as to why I have a 14day ban on my account. If this instant feed back system is only looking for key words to justify reason for suspending someone rather than the context they were used in then the system needs to be reworked. I didnt go afk or feed the vayne albeit i did have a bad game soloing against vayne and blitz.

p.s the %%%got is a derogatory word to call someone gay the form just wont let it be posted without being censored.

Its the fact you repeated it. There is never a need to do that, nor is it wise. You should have just muted them and reported them after the game, not repeat what they were saying. it doesnt help as well you threaten to AFK thus making the other people on your team not only deal with toxic people, but a potential AFK. why ruin it for the rest of the people because of someone else?

The only person on my team that wasnt giving me crap was the shaco which I mentioned above. the other three were being nasty to me and being the toxic players. Where in my chat logg was i being toxic? I never did go afk and I didnt feed the vayne. I played the game the best I could with little to no support from the other three. The Janna was the worst saying I needed to "beg daddy Janna for help". wish I could post the game replay into the forum...would make it even clearer that I shoudlnt have been suspended.

You were toxic for using Hate Speech, as you can see in your logs you have. And its the threat part. Just because you didnt actually do it, doesnt mean it was ok to threaten the of your teammates with an AFK.

Hate speech?!? Where?!? I never called anyone a derogatory name. I was the one that was called those. You cant use hate speech when referencing hate speech that was directed at you. Thats not how hate speech works.

I wasnt reported for inappropriate name though so that is irrelevant. Ive had this name since season 1 of League. xD Ive never been reported before. I have been put on leaver buster but that was due to computer issues which have since been fixed.

There is no reason to ever use those words while playing League. Using them gets you punished.

Aside from those, you threatened to feed, threatened to afk, accused people of trolling and argued all game. You had only one line that was focused on gameplay and one line to say gg at the end. The rest was useless.

The only reason I used those words were to justify my case against the report to the other team.

I wasnt using those words in a malicious manner. And yes i did threaten to do so but thats all it was a threat. I kept playing and trying to get ahead to be helpful to the team.

Report them yourself. Multiple reports don't do anything extra. In fact, calling for reports, or 'providing evidence' of wrongdoing is considered harassment by the IFS. A single report does everything.

You were using those words, which is against the community's standards by itself, to ask for reports, which is also against the community's standards.

I wasnt asking for them to report anyone. I said I had done nothing wrong and that janna was the one calling me those names. As for it being considered harassment to ask for people to report me that is news to me. I didnt know you could report someone for that. Now that I know I wish I could go back and report the ahri who was the one asking for the reports. So all in all I have been effed over by the system that is meant to keep the real mean ones out of the community.

As Silent Gravity said, there is never, never a reason to use that word in League, regardless of if it's directed at someone, not directed at someone, you're repeating it, you're discussing a celebrity who said it, never.

You should have muted the person who called you that and reported them after the game. There is absolutely no reason anyone else needs to report them other than you - it will result the same.

The fact that I repeated those words was to get the other team to not report me because ahri was trying to rally them to report me.

I believe I've explained why that's not necessary, and why the word is unacceptable even if that's what you're doing.

Furthermore, you were being negative at the beginning of the game, so it's not like she was wrong to report you even before you repeated the hate speech.

Yes you have but as a first offence that shouldnt result in a 14 day ban on someone who has never had an issue in the game before.

It goes to show you Riot has a zero tolerance policy for hate speech. Just like in real life, where you utilize hate speech in the office you're more than likely going to be terminated. I've seen that happen multiple times in real life where someone is extremely heavily punished for using hate speech once, even if in a joking/non-targeted manner.

If you behave well normally and never have issues, just take this as a learning experience and a warning to not threaten to feed/afk or use hate speech again.

I DIDNT USE HATE SPEECH!!!!! How is that so hard to see? The words are not inherently malicious. I wasnt using them in a form of hate. I was explaining what the other players were SAYING to me. Big difference here. I wasnt even joking around with it. I was more offended that I was being called those words.

Your account said the word. There's literally no acceptable time to use those words in League.

Take this as a warning that Riot doesn't take hate speech lightly.

The words themselves are not hate speech. When used to demean and ridicule someone they end up becoming hate speech. Its about the context in which the words are used that should be the issue. Not only the words themselves.

Even if your behavior was not caught until now, or your behavior was triggered by another person's behavior: you are not justified. Riot's ability to enforce their rules is independent of their actual enforcement of the rules. Because you yourself were caught, riot has already reserved the right to punish you even if they havn't punished you before for that behavior and even if they are unable to punish others for the same behavior, as you yourself were caught "red-handed". Believing that a behavior is OK simply because it goes largely unnoticed to a certain point does not make it OK: that is complacency.

The use of certain comments are considered offenses that are grounds enough for disciplinary action. It doesn't matter if you weigh your own comments differently then other people, you will be disciplined based on what Riot deems to be unacceptable behavior because they have reserved the right already: regardless of whether they are right or wrong.

You should take the opportunity you have now to stop your account from becoming a full perma-ban and reform your behaviour. Work on addressing your behavior and take your ban seriously instead of trying to justify yourself. There are no excuses for certain types of behavior and riot won't except them on the grounds that they have every right to say what is and what is not acceptable.

On the other hand, if you honestly truly believe that you have not violated the terms of use then contact riot and discuss the evidence against you.

Thank you for your lengthy comment. I am a decent player and I do keep my calm and I dont attack people based on how they play or their lifestyle. My comments werent offensive in anyway if you actually took the time to read them. The words that I used were directed at me by other players in the game. I was just informing the other team of what had transpired and that there was no grounds to report me. Im not justifying myself as I have done nothing wrong. My behavior wasn't out of line as I continued to play the game. If you could only see the actually replay of the game you would see that my behavior wasn't malicious in any way and that I tried to play the best I could. I have already sent a support ticket out and am patiently awaiting a reply. I just thought I would come to the community and ask for some insight. I guess all we have to do is redlight some words and even if they werent used maliciously that they still get you suspended.

There is no need to inform the other team of what happens in team chat, nor is there a need to inform them of what transpires in champ select. As tantrum has stated before, one report is the same as 9 reports:

I don't doubt that you are a decent player, thats not what matters here. Riot believes that they are right.

You may believe that you have done nothing wrong but just remember that Riot doesn't think so. What you should have done is muted and reported those people. Repeating their comments is akin to being complicit in a crime. And just because the main perpetrator wasn't caught doesn't mean your not liable.

But how was it a crime to say that they were calling me these names? That shouldnt result in a suspension. I wasnt calling anyone those names or using them in malice. I was letting the other party know what was being said to me. Thats not malicious or wrong. Those words while being used in my context werent hate speech.
