If it's was that easy do you honestly believe they would have implement something like that long ago? The fat of the matter is that bots and other programs like this are very difficult to detect.

It may be difficult to fix, but this a very serious issue that Riot needs to turn their attention to.

So it might be difficult to fix, but you suggested that its a simple fix, so which is it? Again if it was something that easy it would have been done a lot time ago. The fact of the matter is that the people who make bot programs basically work to try and cheat the system. So Riot needs to work 2x as fast as these people make the program so that they dont find any loopholes, or anything that can make their programs get detected. You are basically asking them to be mind readers and know beforehand when these programs are made and fix it before its even released. That is impossible to do.

They still have report systems. They can add a category called "This account was controlled by a program, not a human" or something like that. I know they might get a lot of bogus reports, but if they look specifically at sub level-30 ARAM games they'll find a lot of legitimate botters.

And they do. what makes you think they dont? Again like i said these people who make these programs work really hard. Obviously there will always be people who make these kinds of programs, Name me one game that doesnt have something like this? Especially since its a free to play game it makes it much more easier to use a program like this because they can always download it. They can only work so hard to get rid of these, but it will never be gone completely, thats just how life goes!

Even if there isn't a clear solution in sight, It's important to keep trying because this can't keep going on. Bots don't just appear occasionally; they're very common in sub-level 30 matches. Games are literally unplayable.

Honestly, I think this problem has been kept under the radar for too long. People are complaining about certain champions having 54% winrate in diamond elo or whatever, but this something that needs equal, if not more, attention.

From what I've heard, Riot has been trying, but, as previously mentioned, it's a complicated issue. Unfortunately, there isn't much Riot can really say about the problem without either revealing information to the botters or needlessly increasing public awareness and unrest about bots. With that said though, occasional (informal) comments from Riot that they're still actively working against bots might be helpful in terms of playerbase confidence.

On another note, the reason balancing is discussed more than botting is because balancing is much easier to discuss. If a champ is strong/weak, you can bring up possible solutions to address that. As for botting, anything that would actually be useful would be better discussed during a job interview with Riot.

Riot doesnt care. And here is why.

Those accounts are all collected together and sold in bulk. The buyers of those accounts then spend money on them. Maybe they got their old account banned, maybe they wanted a quick smurf. Who knows who cares. But here is thousands of lvl 30 accounts ready to go, and paying customers are gobbling them up and spending money on them.

The chinese in control of Riot will not allow them to cut off access to paying customers. This will not stop, it fits right into their business model, which is to collect the maximum amount of money through any means necessary.
