Banned Accounts

Hi there. I just was curious and bored so I thought I'd share some thoughts;

I just had my 3rd account banned. I'll spare you the details. Lets just say im not feeling too stoked right now.

I was just curious, as clearly, I am too toxic to actually play this game, and must now admire from afar; am I really this messed up that I cant play this video game? the game I read about while im on on a work break or on the toilet? the game i excitedly talk about with my duo at length into the night? the strategies and the skins? the 10s of thousands of hours, and dollars? because i asked for help or said 'gg' sarcastically too much?

Videos keep popping up on my youtube feed about mass exodus of league players, and why is league dying etc... i dont even watch this kind of content. I played league my entire adult life. 3 accounts banned in a year? should i seek counselling?? has the game changed... or have i become so toxic i must rinse off this addiction and passion and walk away?

any thoughts welcome. if youre gonna tell me im toxic and deserve this yes yes ive heard it. heard it all. over 20 000 norms games on my original account. i have seen more horrible things said in league than on any platform ever. go ahead. speak your mind.

I'll be honest with you

I was just curious, as clearly, I am too toxic to actually play this game, and must now admire from afar; am I really this messed up that I cant play this video game? the game I read about while im on on a work break or on the toilet? the game i excitedly talk about with my duo at length into the night? the strategies and the skins? the 10s of thousands of hours, and dollars?

Yes. You have to understand that your teammates (and enemies) just want to play the game without getting flamed/trolled, just like you (hopefully) do.

But for whatever reasons you can't give them that. Riot is telling you that if you can't stop flaming, you'll have to stop playing.

I think you can change, but as you are now: Yes. You are too messed up to play.

because i asked for help or said 'gg' sarcastically too much?

You don't get banned for that. You get banned for intentionally contributing to making others have a worse game, either by trolling or by flaming them.

You definently don't get banned for asking for help.

And you'll never get punished for sarcastically saying 'gg' too much. (But it can contribute to a punishment.)

3 accounts banned in a year? should i seek counselling??

You probably don't need to seek counselling. If you feel like you need it, go for it. But no one here knows you personally, and can't judge it.

has the game changed... or have i become so toxic i must rinse off this addiction and passion and walk away?

Over the years Riot has become stricter on what they punished, but what people find annoying and toxic has mostly stayed the same. Riot just got better at identifying problematic behaviour.

The game been dying for 9 years. It'll probably continue to die for 9 more years. Or simply it's just not dying. As for the game for you, it's likely just not for you. Find a game that is suitable for you, a game with a guideline you can follow. Because clearly, you can't follow League's. League's policy is common courtesy. There's no complexity or trick to it.

It's just because people on the internet think they're invulnerable to all consequences. So something as small as respecting other or ignoring negativity is like a foreign language to them. So, find a game more suitable for you.

The reason that there is an exodus in league, is the quality of league has gone to hell in the past 2 seasons. riot is not learning from it's mistakes, taking champions that DO NOT NEED BUFFED, and either over buffing them because "metrics" or not buff champions that need it the right way (see Jinx and buffing W AD ratio when clearly that's NOT why she's fallen out of the meta or the real problem with why crits have fallen out of the meta)

on the banning of accounts. riot has a history of pulling ano tolerance on the wrong things. Today, a person literally cursed me out in language that would even make a klansman blush.. but because he did it post game, riot has a STRONG chance of never seeing it, even tho I reported, and said "post game comments" All because riot has to manually look at the report..

That is one thing that I personally find the flaw in riots system to be. if they want this game to be less toxic, they have to prove to us that they care. be it reports, better rewards for being "honorable" etc.

right now, they only show they care about the LCS..

Unfortunately LoL has become a community of hyper-sensitive airheads that can't take any form of criticism. As several players have pointed out, NA solo queue lacks the competitive aspect, because it's a problem to give a shit about winning. This is why Korea and China will continue their dominance. The sad part is that this is actually antithetical to the American way of life, in that we really don't like a nanny state. Independence used to be valued, and we used to tell our kids to fight their own battles. Now, we have kids on this game that whine and complain about people saying mean things, never actually looking within themselves for mistakes. It's always someone else's fault. A majority of the "report x" shit I see is from players that are feeding. They need to externalize that bad feeling, so they blame someone else for calling them on their mistakes. The only way to win is to not chat.

This game exists in a fantasy land where all negativity is banned. People on these thread spout Lyte-isms back and forth, believing themselves to be morally righteous. This is the only place they get that feeling. IRL nobody gives a fuck that someone was mean to you, ignore them. The mute button is easily accessible, yet here we are, banning accounts that have years of playtime over words. The only thing Riot should ban accounts for is cheating, inting, trolling, and afking. IRL you never give on to whiny demands, otherwise you will be faced with more whiny demands. Riot has trained a portion of its playerbase to whine incessantly, and be rewarded.

Nobody can tell you whether or not you're welcome to play LoL, of course you are. You just have to navigate the self-righteous buffoons in order to not get your account banned. I just imagine how shitty their life must be if they get upset over words in a video game. I imagine them whining to their boss everyday about someone being mean to them, then being dumbfounded when they are fired. Thoughts like those help me just avoid chatting with people at all. Think about when someone tells someone that's upset to "chill out" IRL. Do they ever actually chill out? The keyboard warrior thing works both ways. IRL if you constantly tell people "it's just xxxx, chill out," then run and tell some authority figure, it won't work out well for the tattletale. They only do this passive-aggressive high-horsing online, from the safety of their bedrooms.

To sum it up, MUTE ALL, USE PINGS.
