You actually have an incorrect idea of how the system works.

The system punishes based on consistency x severity. Think of it like a point system. Every time you are validly reported, you get a toxicity score attached to your account. When it passes a certain threshold, you get punished.

That way your punish is solely based on your past actions and is a pretty fair system to judge others.

The easiest answer for you is that yea you totally deserved a ban, if for no other reason than for asking for others to report, confirmed by Riot to be considered griefing.
