League Punishment System

Why is the League community in the state that it is? Why has Riot allowed it to become this pool of toxicity? I understand that Riot doesn't create inherently bad people, but why does it create a platform to allow such behavior? Because let's be honest, the punishment system in this game is pretty weak and ineffectual. People are continually toxic and receive no punishment for it. And it's not like Riot is incapable of fixing this problem. They have the funding and resources to do so, and other games have already found almost free solutions to the problem (i.e. Overwatch in CSGO). People who troll and feed are rarely banned, especially in lower elo, and people who are generally toxic in game can pretend to be nice in chat and then feed horribly.

Another thing is repeat offenders. Tyler1 should be IP banned. He has videos of him recorded being toxic to a professional player, as well as countless other members of the community. I understand that Riot has a limited spectrum of possible punishments, but you need to get the people who are ruining the community out of the community.

You can't underestimate the size of LoL. There are far too many players and matches going on to manually check them; that is why the Tribunal went into recess for improvements and the Instant Feedback System took over. The Tribunal will accentuate the IFS when it returns so that judgment can be more accurately passed on fringe cases like you describe.

As for Tyler1, they didn't IP ban him simply because they have a policy against it. They tried it before and it too easily results in banning a ton of innocent players in its wake (dorms etc.). Instead, they simply ban him on sight. They may still use his IP for helping to determine it's him, but they won't ban all accounts on an IP without investigating first.

No idea why this is getting downvoted. If anyone tries to talk about toxicity they get downvoted.

The system is screwed up. Althought a lot of players that are complaining about it are toxic, there are SO many issues with it.
