Riot ban system

So I made a smurf account to play with my friend who just started the game, and someone was trolling me so I called them a fag. Then I realized my error and that I would probably get chat restricted, so I thought "whatever, it's just a smurf account". A few minutes after the game, I got temp banned for 2 weeks. I was confused because I never had any infractions up until that point (new account). So I sent Riot a ticket asking them why I got temp banned, and they said it's because they have 0 tolerance for hate speech.

That's so fucking stupid. Being toxic is being toxic. It shouldn't matter what you say, everything should be punished equally. Everything you say are just words, none of them have more meaning than others. If I said the n word and a bunch of people got mad at me for it, then they're the ones making the situation worse. They're giving the word the power that they so desperately want it to not have. (idubbbz quote) But seriously though, if you're going to temp ban me for "hate speech", then ban every other person who has ever been toxic. Don't chat restrict some people and ban others, they're all toxic, give them the same punishment. Fuck you Riot, fix your system.

Regular toxicity is different, and it gives you more time to correct your behavior before the hammer comes down: the punishment system works on 4 tiers. The first is a 10 game chat restriction, then a 25 game. After that is a 14 day ban, and then a permaban. It doesn't matter what the amount of toxicity is, if you continue to be toxic, eventually you will be permabanned. When you're on the 14 day ban, all it take is one instance of validated toxicity to get your account permabanned.

However, these rules are thrown out the window in instance of hate speech, something Riot has a zero tolerance policy for (and calls to self harm but that doesn't apply here). One offence can take you from nothing to a 14 day ban.

I mean if people cry over words on a screen, why the ACTUAL FUCK are you playing league then? for fuck sake, people need to stop being pussies.

That f word can seriously escalate the punishment tiers, of which getting you to an instant 14 days suspension seems legit. Other than that, just mute the guy instead of talking back.

Accusing others of being sensitive while flamers are sensitive enough to throw tantrums when the game isn't going their way.

Yeah idk who you're talking about in this situation, I just keep my chat silenced and don't say a word.

Even though it's normally the older generation that takes the offense about the words as the newer generation is the one using them, but hey... go ahead and talk out your ass about a situation you have 0 knowledge about. Keeps me entertained

Let's see, people cry over a word that's said by someone they don't know, and immediately go bat shit crazy wanting "justice",so if I told a complete stranger on a website to "fuck off" does that automatically mean Ik them well enough to strike a nerve? Hell, I don't bother reporting anyone who calls me racial slurs or "Homophobic" (Prejudice) slurs, because Idc about that, it's coming from someone Idk so it's meaningless

"Nut up or shut up." If you got nothing useful to say, say nothing at all. You don't need to harass people, just like people don't need to put up with your bullshit.

Let me preface this by saying I don't think people should be banned for saying anything. Mute functions exsist for a reason, also if someone is too delicate to hear this type of language they should not be on the internet. Also, riot could just allow the snowflakes to disable chat.

The problem is that if you are going to ban for saying mean things, you cannot pick and choose which things are mean. If you had called him a "meaniehead" instead, in my book that would be grounds for the same punishment.

All the current system does is allow people who are too delicate for truly toxic behavior to be as toxic as they can while protecting their delicate minds from people who would hurt their feelings. poor snowflakes.

Nevermind that the snowflakes deserve every second of toxicity.

I don't understand these "words" you use. They are just strings of letters. They have no meaning to me.

If words are words and should be punished equal ... please go to your dad, call him stupid first and after an hour you call him a %%%. Lets see the difference.
