Refunding RP, just got permabanned

Well, I just got permabanned, I don't think Riot is going to actually look into my response based on other discussions i have looked at. I don't know if they will give me a second chance but, I recently bought RP. I have a pretty big amount. When I log in, it tells me I'm permabanned and then i click "I understand". The cilent just closes and there is nothing i can do about my purchases. If I can't get unbanned, I would at least like to have a refund or a way to gift it away to my friends or something.

TBH, I feel like a perma chat restriction in my case would fit my situation better but I'm hoping I can at least get something positive out of this.

you agreed to the Terms of Use "If your account is terminated, you’ll no longer have access to it, including any of the associated data or content (e.g., champions, skins, Riot Points, etc.). You’ll not be entitled to any refunds and we’ll have no liability to you. "

Well, I would like to know their age. If they are under the age of consent then that agreement isn't worth anything.

Furthermore, state, federal, and national (if you are not from the United States) regulations trump whatever is in the agreement.

You'd have to go through your credit card provider and try to revert the charge. I have no idea whether or not they would actually let you do so or how it would affect your credit rating though.

Though, I doubt the perma-ban was a surprise considering you received previous punishments and apparently didn't bother to improve your behaviour.

Purchasing a large amount of RP when you knew you were close to getting banned was a poor decision. You knew what would happen next if you continued your behvaiour,

Why should you get the RP again? It was entirely your fault you got permabanned. It's irrelevant whether you bought RP right before you got permabanned.

well cool but thats not the point. I mean it's obvious i can't refund them since its rp currency but all I would like to do is send them to my friends? And if you bring up the "smurf account" thing, couldn't riot keep track of the 0.006% of players getting permabanned?

Yes, but if league can run millions of players, why wouldn't they be able to keep track of thousands, especially considering that there are separate servers? Honestly, I get it's a punishment but they should at least let us give away our rp rather than just disabling it completely.

while on the subject, i feel like everyone should be allowed back onto the account (entering games would be locked).

So that they can recover friend usernames, Maybe even let some players know. gift away some RP.

Like what if you're in a situation where you only know someone on league client. You get perma banned You cant remember their username/They don't accept your new friends request.

It would be really shitty to lose a friend that way.

Plus the RP, there's no harm in letting you gift that away to someone at the vary least.

The main reason they don't let you do that is that they don't want players who have been permanently banned to continue playing the game.

They want to make it inconvenient for them so they don't rejoin the community.

They would just use their remaining RP to get a little headstart on their new smurf. No point in letting them do so.

Solution, allow them only a limited time to do all this. as well as not allowing them to add any friends.

Remember, you have to have someone on your list for X amount of time before being allowed to gift them.

That isn't a solution in the least.

All they would have to do is create a smurf during the 2 week suspension (or have one beforehand) and add the smurf on their main account.

I understand Riot reserved the right to do this in the ToS. But cmon, That's basically consenting to robbery. aha

there should be a way to gift it away to someone before getting perma banned. Obviously not a refund. but..idk man. lol.

I've always viewed accounts to only games to be similar to a membership (such as one to a gym).

While you have paid to access and use their facilities and equipment, they may choose to revoke your access at any time if you violate their terms of service (i.e. ruining equipment, harassing other members, etc).

With League of Legends specifically, they had to have known that they were close to being permanently banned (since they would have been punished two or three times previously unless their violation was either very severe or due to usage of third party programs). Even with that knowledge, they decided to purchase a significant sum of RP.

As far as I'm concerned, they were informed of the possible consequences of their decision and chose to make it anyways.

Why do you keep citing that case? It isn't even a permanent ban case. It got appealed to a 14 day suspension within like 3 days of the ban even happening.

I had gotten a 14 day ban a month or so ago, but i was shocked that i didn't get any chat restriction. All the situations were people trying to get me heated, but i end up the only one getting reported because I didn't take them as serious as they took me. lol

They could easily have either an existing smurf account or have created one after a previous punishment.

If they had even a moderate amount of foresight, they would have those accounts friend one-another and be able to transfer RP.

Boi, skins don't give you a head start at all lmao. And why buy xp and ip boosts, it would be a waste of rp anyways. Plus, wouldn't riot catch on if you're just sending all the gifts to just one account?

Besides, if the account was permanently banned, there isn't really any other use for the RP and you can't refund it anyways.

Man everyone on my side is getting down voted. Many of you guys against me don't even get how ridiculous the tribunal system got. Honestly and plus the fact it's 2k16, so everyone is getting butthurt. Whos fault is that? I don't like how people start the shit talking and I have to end them. They realized I'm right or something, they won't accept that and they just report me.

Basically, Tribunal System = Auto Filter

If you use bad words, that's what it will see.

Yah, I don't think it's very fair.. You can't advertise a player to spend money on your game and then ban them because another player points at them.

Even if there was a consumer protection agency or law in his state or country, the TOS clearly state that you own nothing of that account. He merely unlocked RP through online transaction. Its not subject to state laws. He agreed to it.

Furthermore, as I have stated, repeatedly, they are free to write whatever it is that they want, it still doesn't trump consumer protections in place.

Remeber that Laws are just writings too. Nothing that is absolute out of the jurisdiction it covers.

I'm making no opinion on this, I will say to anyone thinking about charge-backs be very careful of what you are considering. This ideal that is being thrown around about getting your money back can seriously damage your own banking account, and I've read about others messing up their parents accounts. So take care about doing this :)
