If permabanned people wanted to change, they should have done it after one of their two chat restrictions or their 14 day suspension. They've been given chances. They ignored them. They earned what they got.

Losing the account is punishment for their toxic behaviour.

If they have truly changed, then they can accept their punishment and create a new account while behaving like a respectable member of the community.

Canadians use the metric system like the good, sane people we are.

We wouldn't bother with measurements as outdated a miles, gallons or pounds.

Reforming doesn't mean you didn't deserve the punishment.

If a murderer changes his ways in prison and starts a charity, does that mean their guilty verdict is now meaningless?

Even murderers can be released, yes. They can go free and get a fresh start. But they don't get their years back, do they?

Similar case here. You can make a new account whenever you want. But there's no getting the old one back.

A permabanned account is essentially the death penalty in similar terms of punishment. You had multiple chances to reform. You decided not to. Either leave or start a new account and reform on that one.
