Confused as to why I am chat restricted?

I logged on today to see that I was chat restricted for 25 games...

I'm currently in a lobby to a game, but I will copy/paste the chat logs if needed.

Does saying "gg" with quotes like that constitute being chat restricted? I can't think of what else I said in either game that was presented to me on the chat log that would be something worthy of chat restriction. I'd much rather communicate with only pings if it meant I wouldn't be punished and lose honor rewards for what seems to be nothing of a vulgar/ offensive/ hateful nature.

Any civil conversation on this topic would be much appreciated, Thank you

Chat logs would be extremely helpful here. Without them we can only guess.

Okay so game two this is what happened btw.

I was assigned Jungle in champ select, and the J4 was picking at the same time as me who was assigned mid, he selected his champion with smite and myself as well as another teammate try to tell him to take something other then smite. I'm not going to assume someone can't play J4 Mid so the champion was not my gripe. He says nothing in champ select and says nothing in the first few of the game until he follows me around smiting my camps away, which is when i start to tilt admittedly. I decide to cover down mid as Shaco with smite ignite..... obviously thats not ideal. He continues to play the game as if he were the jungler saying things like "oh well" and "i thought i was jungle, get over it".....

A 25-game chat restriction is the second step up the punishment volcano and these logs don't show anything that merits an escalated ban, so that means you either edited something out or you had a prior chat restriction. I'm going to assume the latter.

While I don't see anything in either match I would report for, they're still pretty negative. People don't like it when you spend too much time arguing with someone else, regardless of how justified you may have felt. For what it's worth, I would have felt pretty frustrated too.

The next step is a 14-day ban, so you're going to want to focus on remaining positive.

That is correct, I did get a chat restriction previously and i've actively been trying to not say anything that would constitute any kind of punishment, I need to find a setting to automatically mute/ turn off chat on both ends if that's what it takes to not want to speak my mind to people.

I would, in general, advise against this. Discipline is a skill that can be practiced like any other. In fact, there's some science that says "fake it till you make it" is really the only way to increase self-discipline.

Actively try to pretend to be genuinely nice or happy to teammates regardless of the situation basically? I get there being no hate speech, I agree with that. But I feel like people are so sensitive over basically anything you say these days, it's what confuses me most :/

That's funny, I feel exactly the opposite. It seems to me that some people are bound and determined to be rude and obnoxious, but then get all butthurt when you call them out on it.

Calling someone out for a report is the only thing I see here that could have triggered that punishment. Every time I see that, I ask: Why do it? Why ask other people to report someone, it does literally make zero difference, if that person gets 1 report from you, or 9 reports from every other player. All a report does is flag the game for review. It does not count how many reports from that game were issued. If a person gets reported, his chat will be examined by the automatic instant feedback system. Additional 8 reports won't trigger anything else after that.

That being said, i have seen an increased amount of people getting punished for calling out people for reports. Similarly to the increased amount pf people getting permabanned for saying 'kys'.

Just refrain from doing that, report that player yourself if you feel like it needs to be looked at, and move on.

tbh i dont really see anything bad with game 1. telling someone that you mute them is pointless but not toxic. g2 is kinda where it hits. even if someone is trolling, calling them out on it is not good. especially since you "feed the troll".

that's fair, and I understand that. It's just frustrating that the person can intentionally pick the wrong role, follow me around for 4-5 mins and take my camps. pretty much ruins the games experience for 4 other people but because I talk back to the person I get punished too :(

yea feel you. but this is mainly because its way easier to code a programm to filter out bad language than trolls. overall stealing a role is something i remember someone being banned for once. just mute and report at the end. and... now dont get me wrong its bad but, if you really cant stand it anymore just leave the game. afkeing 1 game wont get you a leavebuster. prob afking 5 games wont either. so yea. i think every human reaches a point where he cant take it anymore. so dont take it anymore.

I don't really see anything terrible either honestly, not nearly as bad as a lot of chat logs I've seen. Maybe a bit negative but not unnecessarily so. Idk honestly, seems like a harsh punishment.
