Razer Synapse causing bans.

I have been banned for "using 3rd party software". Yea, on my brand new gaming laptop that only has league and unreal engine on it. Sure thing Riot! Totally!

I use my razer death adder to play, and have razer synapse installed, because it's kind of a necessity.

I got my ban after a really good game with my wife, and immediately took to the support page. I don't know why I expected anything less than an automated response, but I was hopeful. Alas, copy paste as usual.

I went to these forums and came across a post from this month, right after patch 7 6 came out.

Apparently many people are getting banned for 3rd party software this month, randomly.

And the one correlation between them all is Razer Synapse.

I submitted to the support with this inquiry, that maybe this is a coding mistake. Flagging Synapse as a 3rd party program.

It's not likely Razer Synapse or way more people would be banned, including myself and many Rioters. People always try to find some common program to blame and that's not usually what's happening. More likely it's;

The player's account was compromised
They logged in somewhere with an illegal mod/program
The program was installed on their computer by a friend/relative
They copied their client from one that was illegally modded
They aren't being honest
They shared their account with someone who logged into a modded client or cheated

Can it be due to a false flag? Yes, it's a possibility. However, the chances are extremely slim. They do bans for this in large waves, so it's normal to see a lot of people post about it in a short period of time. If you believe there was an error you should submit a ticket, and you might consider providing them the IP of all the locations you logged in from and any programs you run in the background while playing.

Key note Brand new laptop

means you played league before on a different laptop? old laptop could of flagged account for third party

first off you don't need Razer synapse to use Razer products, I am using both my Razer mouse and keyboard without it and they work fine just cannot program the extra buttons on my one mouse (I own three total) or the the extra ones on my keyboard (besides the normal ones). None of those are needed to play League.

Secondly, I have played League with Synapse for over 2 years before I switched computers and never got flagged. It's purely to make those buttons programmable and has nothing to do with League. League would only flag things that modify the game itself not your mouse...or else me programming the /laugh to my side mouse button would have gotten me in trouble years ago lol

The same thing happened to me. Although my PC wasnt brand new, i pocess a Razer Orbweaver and Razer Synapse installed (you cant really use the orbweaver without it since most of the keybindings are pointless by default )

I got banned around the same time as the autor was, so i think its related to the Synapse program which can be used to create Makros.

I believe that even when you dont use the macros actively, changing keybindings etc. can cause a ban. The only other options which may interact with the lol client could be overlays of steam and NVIDIA but is see no reason why they would cause a ban since they cant be abused i think.

I've been using Synapse for two years now. Never been banned. Most I've gotten is a 5-game chat ban for whining in chat a lot.

It seems pretty obvious that what ever was on your old computer/laptop triggered the ban. Especially since they take 3rd party program ban seriously it obviously wasn't something recent. So anything in your new laptop wouldn't have caused it. I'd check what ever you used before especially since it caused you to get ban from another game!
