don't play fucking kennen adc
don't play pantheon support
You can play Kennen ADC if you want.
If your best champ for a role is off meta, pick it anyway
It's better to pick a champion you're familiar with than an "overpowered" one you don't play much.
dont buy liandrys on leblanc
tbh this is just a venting thread for your last lost game.
Do memorize all of the champions' kits before you start. If that sounds daunting, you're definitely not ready for ranked. All good players in ranked already have.
do play ap sejuani :P
Every time you visit shop buy wards!
Okay, for reals. First, don't go into ranked if you aren't really good at CSing. I got bad at CSing lately, so I need to practice before I go back in next season. CSing means you should get about 95% of your minions. This is even worse if you are Veigar. You need to do this while trading damage on the other champion and avoiding shots. And you need to train on CSing on that champion. Missile speeds and damage vary just enough.
This is number 1, top of the list. Every lane but jungle and support. This will absolutely 100% make life easier for you in the EVERY TIER.
DO study. Find out what items are important to your role/character. What items are core(usually 2 items are key to the character's build) and what items should you buy as you go. What defensive item for what team makeup? Banshee's veil or guardian angel. Omen or Frozen Heart? What skills should you max first, second. If you are a jungler, study your best path. It changes from jungler to jungler.
DO get good at a lane, not a champion. I can play mid with a few champions, because I'm bad at Veigar against assassins, so if there's an assassin mid, I want to avoid playing veigar and maybe play Cho'gath instead. Or at least have several options for a lane. If you jungle, try to have a burst jungle and a CC/Tank jungle. Same with support. If you mid/top, try to have an AP and AD option.
DON'T get salty. It sucks that troll is in your promo series, report them and move on. Try your best to stay solid. The new queue system won't be eprfect since people can still troll in their roles, but it will cut down on problems.
DON'T backseat coach. If they are doing something wrong, point it out briefly, politely, and move on. If they aren't listening, repeated requests aren't gonna help. This is hard because some mistakes are pretty simple. My friend dived 2 on 1 on a caitlynn after the enemy team just did dragon, so they were scattering, came back, and I sacrificed my beautiful braum body so he could get back to base. It's hard to tell a player to please watch the map more without getting down on them a little bit, but there you go.(and yes, getting down on someone is big, because even if it doesn't make them CRYBABY, it can make them play a little worse.)
