When is RIOT really going to step up its penalties for people who go AFK in ranked games? If you're going to determine rankings based on team performance, this is a huge deal. Counter Strike has pretty serious escalating penalties for going AFK, with I believe up to a month of not being able to play. I think it's time to do the same in League ranked games. This may just be a lower rank issue, but still...
Hello, Leaver Buster is implemented to fight AFK and is pretty harsh. Also, never forget the confirmation bias. AFKs have even more chances to be in the enemy team (they are 5 whereas only 4 in your team), but it doesn't affect you that much because our brains have a tendancy to remember bad memories over good ones. You won multiples games thanks to AFK, but you re more likely to remember the games you lost because of AFKs. Also, sometimes these AFKs arent intentional or malicious. I know for a fact that Ive dodged several games because my client wouldnt connect after champ select, and even with client relogs and multiple restarts sometimes the game just cant be joined. Granted, I always stop playing after I know this is going to be an issue, but it still isnt necessarily the persons fault that theyd receive a month ban, as you suggested.
