Why is it when players try to show their worth by trying to play the roles they know that riot gives us roles we don't want to play. We're trying to prove ourselves if it takes long queue times i'd prefer that over to people purposefully doing things like this to get their way.
I remember back when they introduced this primary and secondary role which is 100% guarantee but there is a problem. the que time was insanely long due to the lack of players on support and stuff. Too many mids, tops and adcs. When they updated the autofill, man it was so much better. The wait time turn from 20 mins to like 2 mins. Don't think they would remove it due to the past. And honestly, I perfer them not to remove it for the sake of our times.
In ranked, yes. In normals, I see it as a way to force myself out of my comfort zone.
Granted, I'm a Support player, so I get my first choice probably 95% of the time. Or get autofilled back into it.

It’s unfathomable that people can’t play support for 1 game, or any other role for that matter. You should have at least SOME knowledge in each role and a champ or 2 per role. And side note you don’t want 10-20 + minute queues, you may think so, but it gets old real quick.

It's not just because players can't play X.
When you get autofilled to any role, you will often face against a main. That main will obviously, in most cases pubstomp you. Not because you can't play that role, but because you're obviously worse at that role than the main because you don't main it. This gets worse the higher up you go.
So yeah, I'm glad that the autofilled ADC shortened queue times and "knows" how to play ADC, but him going 0/5 against VayneOnetrick#12312525215 isn't increasing the chances of victory
I think its necessary at a certain level of play in ranked. In Plat+ every player should be somewhat competent at every role.
It does feel bad getting autofilled as support though. Oh well.

drop autofill from the lower ranks were it is not needed. another idea to make things fair is if both teams get an autofill support. not one team getting a support main vs an autofill. make the matchmaking to where both teams have the same position auto filled. that should help make things competitive. im 1000% against "auto go fuck yourself". since its inception it hasnt been on 2 nights i played out of the hundreds... another idea is to drop supports from the game out right . this is my least favorite idea. however it is a possible solution. autofill in itself violates the idea and spirit of the new system. im all for the voluntary waiting to not be included in autofill. give players a choice and see what happens.
i like having autofill... otherwise 10 minute rank queues... especially when youre high elo lol. like in plat rn
