Hi. I just want to thank RIOT games for banning my $300 account for being "toxic" (no curse words were said whatsoever) and the guy who was cursing and dropping f bombs to me is happily playing. Thank you so very much.

Literally the worst words I said was "trash" and "lowlife" while these guys are CURSING calling me a ****face and all kinds of curse words.... Above yes I was tilted and standing up for myself while actual TOXIC people are CURSING at me. Yet I'm banned, fair right? When are you not allowed to be tilted? RIOT please remind me.

You didn't just say trash, noob, and lowlife, you were using them as direct insults. This can count as harassment, and is very poor behavior on your part. Standing up for yourself can be a necessary thing to do, but is most often used as a last resort behind other methods of dealing with a situation.

The acceptable method for dealing with people like you were is to mute them. That is how you truly defend yourself, because defending yourself is acting in a manner that prevents further harm. What you did is called retaliation, which is an attempt to harm others as they have harmed you. They will get what they deserve, just as you did.

Also of note, one report carries the same weight as nine.

That's cute. I'm glad me calling someone trash, noob, or lowlife is grounds for a BAN. No wonder this game is dying, you treat us like children and give us no respect when we make our claim. Worst community of any game I've ever played and handles bans the worst of any game I've ever played. Cheers!

Indeed, I had this same situation happen a few months ago defending myself against a toxic player and his premade team for calling him a noob while he's cursing at me. When are we going to actually ban the toxic people instead of the players who just want to have fun? So he's cursing at me and I call him a noob and I get consequences?? I mean come on...

You aren't defending yourself here. You are full on retaliating by being toxic. Your defense is the mute button, not to flame them back.

Yes, you will get consequences if you break the rules, no matter who "started it". Toxicity is not okay ever - regardless if someone else was toxic first. Keep in mind your next punishment is likely a permanent ban and loss of all content on your account if you keep this behavior up.

I AM PERMABANNED Lol I just lost a lot of money for being "reformed" which I have been (I actually stop ppl from tilting, which is a rare quality in this community btw) until getting flamed by these toxic people. I'm oh soo sorry RIOT if me talking back to a toxic player is "offensive". Clearly justice has been served here.

Oh, I had assumed you were writing this on your first ban and that you would have said you had a 14 day ban before - apologies for assuming such.

These games do not show reform. Reform would mean you are not toxic in any situation - not "most" or "some" situations. You were not reformed - you wanted to keep being as jerky as possible without getting banned, and it bit you in the butt.

If you make a habit of having a temper tantrum like you did in your chat logs then yes, Riot doesn't want you playing their game. They want a better community, and so they work to remove people who can't control themselves from it. Most companies are like this, if only at different degrees.

Fair is a very cold and cruel word. So long as everyone is effected by something in the same way it is fair. Fair does not imply kind, and does not mean it is for the better.

This is how the punishment system works. Riot waits for a habit to form before punishing someone, because everyone has an occasional outburst from time to time, but once a habit has formed all types of bad behavior can eventually lead to a permanent ban.

Throwing insults at other players, at your fellow human beings, goes directly against the behavioral guidelines you agreed to when you signed up for this game. Riot makes you agree to their guidelines before they let you play. Everyone, even Riot employees, are covered by these guidelines, so they are inherently fair.

Those other people will get punished. Maybe they only got a chat ban, and maybe this was one of their first offenses and there isn't enough of a history of poor behavior yet, but they will be punished for their actions just as you were.

If you look at the flowchart I posted you will see something called bad game protection. Riot uses this because they know good people sometimes crack under the weight of harassment. If you not only used up your bad game protection, but kept going until you reached the permaban punishment level, maybe you're not the good person you think you are.

Doing bad things to bad people does not make you good. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Sounds like there were two jerks in the game, both fighting each other.

Curse words itself isn't punishable offense. But directing the curse words to others and insulting others is a punishable offense. In fact, one can insult another person without the use of curse words and it will be just as offensive.

When making a acount you agree to follow the "Summoner Code" which includes rules for your behavoir and what you right in the chat (riot has keywords that turn on red lights to control that). Breaking your agreement to follow the roles will eventually end up in riot games ending their part of the agreement (letting you play their game) aswell. And it's no about the other players. If you break the rules you have no right to do so because "they started it" or "all the cool kids do it too".
