Risking accounts worth hundreds of dollars if I don't want to endure torment

How is it acceptable for me to be forced to play a game with someone who decides to quit and cause a half hour - hour time period of grief upon me and 3 other players? Why are we not allowed to just quit and use our service/our investment meaningfully. I should not have to be FORCED to entrapped with what someone that is misusing the service to torment me as they wish. It's ridiculous that if I decide to stop playing that I'm risking hundreds of dollars invested in my account because I don't want to endure such a thing. Do we even own anything when we purchase anything from Riot Games and League of Legends? I feel like having such a poor handle of this for years demands even legal action be involved. This is what is inherently wrong with the handling of this game.

Smurf accounts are how these people continue to infect our community without fearing punishment. It also ruins the new player game experience. I suggest putting efforts towards eliminating the use of smurfs and finding a way to increase an accounts value. Benign uses of smurf include pro players wanted to avoid excess queue times. This needs to have a solution in it of itself and not be related to smurfs. Creating another queue for higher level players to join would solve this -- it would attempt to also balance "smurfs" of equal value into the normal stream of players. Creating a smurf account needs to be a thing of the past and punishments should be IP wide/some other method that creates a large gap between how easy it is to smurf and abuse this games services.

But they dont ban people for leaving game, at worse you just get a 20min queue wait. You dont risk losing your account, but then again you are breaking the rules when you leave a game. In the case of having a troll, or someone who is trying to intentionally lose you the game you have to remember this is a team game. While the person doing this is usually one person, you being able to leave is just giving the finger to the other people in your team. All of you dont deserve the person trolling/losing the game, but the other people on your team doesnt deserve you leaving because of one person.

Then this goes about being abused especially in rank play. What stopping another person from doing this so another person can take the lost? There is nothing they can do to stop something like this from happening. Mainly because you cannot predict when someone is going to troll or not. Granted some people will state it beforehand, others won't or they'd be more creative to try and not get punished.

In the case of Smurf sadly that too cannot be handled. This is something they should have seen coming, and probably should have either made a rule to have one account, or made it so you link your smurfs accounts to your main account.

I did not know that leaving a game does not risk losing your account. Thank you for that information. I was under the impression that it does risk it because it is one of the many report criteria for players. But I guess they have had false ones in the past such as "Unskilled player" as a rage sink for players. I would argue that my time AND their time is worth more than a futile 30 mins to an hour and that leaving a game does not take away from anyone after the game is already completely out of hand. That said, there are definitely instances where the game is still winnable. Usually games that are impossibly out of hand have an AFK very early in the game's lifespan -- maybe this portion of the game can be moderated by a "gamekeeper" of sorts in ranked play (The game mode I'm primarily addressing -- others don't have as great of importance).

There are definitely solutions out there that will require a concerted effort by the company whether that's staffing people to monitor the game or improving detection of games that should be monitored by trolls through automated alerts given to player reform department (Ex: Player has made very little action in X amount of time. Players has done repetitive sequence of actions that require little input. etc.) Of course, there will always be way around it, but if the moderation staff doesn't give clarity on it (This is Riot's MO anyway) it will be much harder to circumvent.

Saying everything cannot be handled and giving up is just gladly continuing to be dissatisfied while investing your time and money in a product/service that is NOT MAKING ANY EFFORT to remedy the situation. It's the equivalent of rich people creating terrible conditions for poor people and then telling you it's each others fault and there's nothing that can be done. While in real life those rich people can blockade routes to remedy the situation -- within riot's game they have ALL THE POWER. It's simply inaction, no effort, and zero progress.

If anyone worth a damn in this company reads this -- just saying if you need ideas, I'm right here. I've used this service and product for several years because I enjoy many aspects of the game -- most of which have not changed over the years. Unfortunately the same CANNOT be said for the parts I now dislike which are continually growing and unaddressed.

While i do agree something needs to be done. Monitoring is something that would be out of the question just by the sheer fact that it would cost too much money and time. You do realize this game is up 24/7. The only time it is down is when there is a patch/maintenance and even then its only down for a couple of hours (usually 3-4) Aside from that the game is up. possibly hundreds of thousands of matches are played daily from vs ai, customs, normals, rank, ARAM, and during the weekends we have the Featured.

It would be impossible to have even a group of 100 people monitoring live matches daily. Then of course you would need to look through backlogs of games from previous reported incidence which in itself would take ages to get through. You are asking for the impossible. This is sadly what happens when you have a very popular game!

I proposed for ranked games only. The staff can simply be a new variation of the tribunal with only players in good standing allowed to participate. This solves the money and staffing issue because players are definitely motivated to fix the community. These players decisions would all then hit a checkpoint with a much smaller amount of mods simply reviewing/filtering these decisions. I think this is a very feasibly proposition and should be explored.

So its basically like how the tribunal was but only for Rank? that doesnt seem fair as now this basically gives normals (or any other mode for that matter) a free pass to be toxic or breaking any other rule. Riot doesnt want one thing favoring another. its either for all modes or none of them. This is why leavebuster is up for all game modes.

lolno.

You're not paying for anything other than RP, which you yourself agreed to buy and pay for. Also no, you do not own anything, including the account. There is nothing wrong. Quit complaining.

Your account isn't worth anything.

riot made smurfing easier by drastically lowering the exp to get to 30. bad call imo
