The In Game AFK Penalty Hurts More Than Helps

It has been four times now that I would get into a game something happens that I go afk for like 5 mins and get hit with AFK Penalties. The first time was that I have to play on my lab top because my desktop is in storage from moving. My laptop battery is messed up so I have to keep it plugged in. The jack is lose so it can easily slip out which causes my computer to turn off. That happen in game sadly. I turned back on my computer logged back in withing 5 mins. We win the game all is well. BUT GUESS WHAT! For some reason Riot thought it would be a good idea that not only that I don't get the win and LP ,but count it as a loss and take LP from me. I have even got bug splatted and still was hit with the penalty. The other time my son threw up and I had to help my wife clean it up. Got hit with an AFK message and just went back to playing and won the game. Still lost points and no win. How is this suppose to give people intensive to get back in the game! This is competently counter productive. If i go back to a game that i somehow got disconnected from or had to afk for a moment. Why should I play if even if we win I still lose LP for it. Its a complete waste of time then. This helps no one. Please lets talk about this and get this fix please. I have stuck around since season 1 and this is really becoming a breaking point for me.

Regardless of what your excuses are for going afk, you still affect 9 other people because you don't have your things in order before starting a game. If your laptop has a faulty plug, fix or replace it before joining a game. If your son gets sick mid game, that's unfortunate and should obviously be a priority over a video game, but ultimately a bit of lp loss shouldn't be that big of a deal to you if you had to leave to take care of something important.

Your time, maybe. You're playing with a team of 4 other people though. If a player goes afk and doesn't return because they're frustrated or just want to ruin other people's game, but their team manages to win 4v5, should that player still get rewards despite not contributing to that win?

I however do think it's dumb that it disconnects you from the game if you end up afking too long. What is even the point of that? It definitely doesn't help your team by forcing you to reconnect and waste time on the loading screen.
