"I have spent over $5000 on this game, and my account still got banned for unknown reason"

I am posting this for my friend. My friend does not share his account with anyone.

Below is what my friend wants to say:

" Today is a big day when a lot of new skins are released. I love league of legends and I never hesitate to buy new skins once they are released. I have spent over $5000 on this game , I have bought almost all the skins. Today I logged into my account as usual, bought some RP and bought all the new skins. Minutes later, somehow, my account was banned, and I got an email from Riot basically saying nothing about why my account was banned. I am so sad and desperate. I swear to god that I have not done anything that violates Riot regulations. So, Riot, please give me an explanation. Are you banning my account because I transferred my account from NA to LAN as I found it was easy to get Diamond in LAN?

I hope I can get a persuasive explanation. I have spent so much money on this account. This account is my property. So, do you think I am really that stupid to violate Riot regulations and get my own account banned?

As his friend, I am feeling so sorry for him. I know he is a good guy and would never do something stupid to get his own account banned.

One interesting thing to say: In the summer, I played my girlfriend's account (silver) and won 10+ games in a row. Hours later, that account was banned because Riot said that "no hack or script things should be used in the game". I sent emails to Riot explaining that and got no reply, then I gave up and just let my girlfriend play my own account, and my own account got demoted from plat to silver in a week. I think Riot should just ban my account and say that "you suck at this game, don't play anymore".

As you see, when my girlfriend shared her account with me, her account got banned because "it is a plat player playing a silver account"; when I shared my account with my girlfriend, my account has never been banned because "it is a silver player playing a plat account". Does it make any sense?

you should delete the login id.

the summoner name should be enough to identify the account.

Account sharing is a bannable offense. That might be why both he and his girlfriend got banned. They can track your ip and see if multiple people log into the account.

Did he submit a support ticket?

you should post a screenshot of the email stating why it was banned. Many times I see people asking "why am I banned" then lyte comes in here with specific examples of racism and toxicity that the player then was trying to state they only did "that one time".

You might want to tell him that his account is not his property. Riot owns all the content (you never own any of the digital content you buy in any game). One way to put it is that you are "renting" it, and if you break the rules, they hold the right to cancel your contract with no refund. Terms of Use and EULA are on the bottom of this page, and are agreed to every patch (the window that you ignore and click "I accept"). No amount of money buys you immunity to the rules.

As for why he got banned, he should be getting an email. Tell him to check his spam folder too. If he doesn't get one soon, he can submit a Support Ticket and ask for the details. Banned accounts can still use the forum.

No.. in fact, they dont.. This account sharing and is against TOS. And if they were ranked games then it's also MMR boosting.

We need to know the contents of the email he received that supposedly 'said nothing about why the account was banned'. There will be a reason provided in there. If it was for negative behavior, there should be a link to a reform card. Getting us the link will help us point out what the offending behavior was. If it was for account sharing or using scripts or other banned third-party programs, that would be mentioned but there wouldn't be a link to any sort of reform card.

Honestly, part of me wonders if your friend is withholding some information from you. The email should state why he was banned. Perhaps he just doesn't want you to know or doesn't want to admit to whatever it was.

Yeah, Riot sometimes just doesn't like their players.

If they did they'd...

-Stop banning random players for no fucking reason -Create sandbox mode or permanent fun modes like URF to keep trolls and angry af people from coming into rank constantly. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

I do need to thank him for being such a whale that we can have a "free" game. If it wasn't for people like him idk if games like this would exist. Thank you :).

Well I don't know about your friend and I hope that gets figured out. However as for you playing on your gf's account, why would you do that? Account sharing/elo boosting isn't allowed because a person's account history should show what they're capable of doing. I'm glad Riot caught it and got that account banned. As for why your account didn't get banned when sharing is because it's harder to detect a lower skill level playing on a higher account because sometimes people play poorly, especially when they switch the champs they play(as I'm sure she mains different things than you do) whereas someone suddenly playing new champs and showing a huge jump in skill just doesn't happen naturally.

Not only that but elo boosting is a big problem and something Riot is more concerned about than elo dumping so they probably just erred on the side of caution and left you alone.

So basically if your friend really is innocent then he's more likely to get a response from Riot than your case where your argument to them just further proves your guilt by their system.

I'd say that they may have banned it for letting her play the account. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that its easier to see when a player of higher skill picks up a lower account. Its harder to see when a higher account gets passed to someone of lower skill.

According to a few posts from the old forums (which date back to 2013), it seems plausible that the 2200 ban is for use of 3rd party programs.

Account sharing is against the rules. That alone would be enough to get you punished.

We don't have enough information to know what happened to your friend though.
