Incorrect Punishment Tiers

I have not had any punishments past 1 chat restriction that ended 2 months ago, and today I get a notification that my account has been permanently banned. I thought there was a punishment tier that goes from 2 weeks and then permanent? And by the way, if one reads the chat logs of my most recent game that got reported, a player on the other team told me he "hopes I get shot you black piece of **." His words, not mine-extremely racist and offensive. I hope this wasn't misinterpreted by the system as coming from me -because I repeated those same words to him in chat that he said to me when he asked what he said to make me want to report him. Can a rioter check this out please... Read the entire last game's chat logs.

It can be easy to forget, but you have had a 14-day ban on your account not too long ago. I did check out your logs, and you were pretty negative. I don't want to post the exact lines that stand out to me, since you opted to not post the chat logs.

Repeating something like that will very easily trigger the system. Please submit a Support Ticket and explain very precisely and respectfully the situation so they can help. If what you are saying is true, they will be able to remove it.

I'm going to stop you right here. You want to contact support; you more than likely, will get nothing from posting here. The only thing this board is really used for, really, is as a place that other players can read your chat logs and be toxic and condescendingly insult you to feel superior.

That's 90% of this board; it's unproductive for you so just contact support. So you should....

As they say, "You dun goofed."

You see, Riot uses an automated system to look through reports. To be fair, they kind of have to, because of the size of the player base. The thing about automated systems: They don't understand context. It can, it has, and it will ban players wrongly, for anything that appears in chat and will find new things to ban for.

So what you really need to do is contact support and hope you don't get stuck behind the wall of "You were toxic so your ban stays" replies.

You asked for it by repeating them. There's a zero tolerance policy for death threats and hate speech. I'm sure you weren't nice in the rest of the chat log, either.
