Incorrect Punishment Tiers

I have not had any punishments past 1 chat restriction that ended 2 months ago, and today I get a notification that my account has been permanently banned. I thought there was a punishment tier that goes from 2 weeks and then permanent? And by the way, if one reads the chat logs of my most recent game that got reported, a player on the other team told me he "hopes I get shot you black piece of **." His words, not mine-extremely racist and offensive. I hope this wasn't misinterpreted by the system as coming from me -because I repeated those same words to him in chat that he said to me when he asked what he said to make me want to report him. Can a rioter check this out please... Read the entire last game's chat logs.

It can be easy to forget, but you have had a 14-day ban on your account not too long ago. I did check out your logs, and you were pretty negative. I don't want to post the exact lines that stand out to me, since you opted to not post the chat logs.

You can post whatever you want. But of course I was negative, I had just had death threats made against me.. I don't think that's fair to count that game as one that contributes to a ban. What do you think?

I think each player is judged separately and on their own actions. You are responsible for how you react to what other people do and say.

If you reported the other player they will be judged, and they will be responsible for what they do and say.

Repeating something like that will very easily trigger the system. Please submit a Support Ticket and explain very precisely and respectfully the situation so they can help. If what you are saying is true, they will be able to remove it.

I'm going to stop you right here. You want to contact support; you more than likely, will get nothing from posting here. The only thing this board is really used for, really, is as a place that other players can read your chat logs and be toxic and condescendingly insult you to feel superior.

That's 90% of this board; it's unproductive for you so just contact support. So you should....

As they say, "You dun goofed."

You see, Riot uses an automated system to look through reports. To be fair, they kind of have to, because of the size of the player base. The thing about automated systems: They don't understand context. It can, it has, and it will ban players wrongly, for anything that appears in chat and will find new things to ban for.

So what you really need to do is contact support and hope you don't get stuck behind the wall of "You were toxic so your ban stays" replies.

You asked for it by repeating them. There's a zero tolerance policy for death threats and hate speech. I'm sure you weren't nice in the rest of the chat log, either.

What do you mean I asked for it? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, I wasn't the one making threats and the chat logs and context of which proves that. Get over yourself. And no, I wasn't nice in the rest of the chat logsbut my point is that it doesn't deserve an instant perma for that.

Repeating someone else doesn't make it okay to say it. Suicide is a serious issue, we play this game with a lot of unstable teenagers. Personal opinion, Riot might disagree on that front, which is why you should contact support as everyone else will say.

So your argument is that no one can repeat something bad that was said, even in the process of reporting it? If you ran things, no one would ever know what anyone did wrong because it would be illegal to even speak of what they did. Stop being ridiculous. And I did contact support, lets hope it works out.

In League of Legends, you can't say anything unsportsmanlike. You can't call out your teammates for being bad, you can't ask the enemy team to report them, and you can't mock, threaten, insult, or coerce anyone. That's not even totally inclusive.

It sounds silly to say that, because I'm sure you see people do those things quite often.

The problem is the way Riot chooses to punish people who break that rule. Only people that get reported in a large percentage of their games ever get punished- so nothing happens to the people that do it once every 10 games or so, less than 10% of them. Because there are 10 people in every game, it's likely you're going to run into someone having their "l'm usually not like this" game.

Which creates an environment where people think it's normal or acceptable to call for reports, insult their teammates, etc every game, even though it isn't.

Unstable teenagers are not a reason. If they're not smart enough to stay far from strangers that abuse anonimity, welp. See them in some other life.

The problem are flamers that can't be personally allowed to act like that. The problem is the guilty needing punishment, not the victim needing help.

Yea, that was a bait. Im pretty sure they knew exactly why you were reporting them, and were hoping you'd just repeat it knowing you would get flagged.

You know how that could have been avoided? By not announcing your intention to report.

If they didn't know you were going to they wouldn't have asked why you were going to. This is another example of why you should not report beg, report call, or otherwise announce your report.
