Why I got PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM LEAGUE.

Being toxic? There is always a reason for being toxic, though does riot understand? The reason why most people are toxic is because of their team. Their team is not doing well at all while another person is afk , but we don't have to swear or be toxic towards them, but what gets us angry is what they say. They talk all they want and start trash talking towards us but what can we do? Well... As Riot would say! "MUTE THEM" Yes, i agree mute them, but you will still remember that comment that they made that will still haunt causing you to become angry, thus causing more trouble with your team , and causing you to get BANNED.

But we get banned for one - three games? Does riot ever look at the reasons why we are toxic? Obviously not, because if they did i'm positive that 99.9% of the people who did get banned for toxicity wouldn't be banned in the first place. While The TROLLS or AFKs gets to stay, but the people who are serious about the game leave.[slayer-jinx-catface] nice work!

It. Does. Not. Matter.

It doesn't matter what behavior anyone on your team or the enemy team exhibits, your ban is the result of you, and you alone.

If they are doing something that breaks the Summoner's Code, then act like a rational, functioning human being, and report them for their violations at the end of the game.

Also: no, you don't get banned just from 3 games. The only time you will be instantly banned is if something is so toxic that if you didn't recognize it, you have problems much greater then being banned from a video game.

Human beings- Most creatures with emotions, actually, are quite irrational BECAUSE of said emotions. If we were to remove emotion, then we would remove all conflict, all disputes, all individuality- in exchange for maximum efficiency. Unless it became widespread, we would just kill people in small numbers who have deadly diseases instead of saving them. We'd be working 4 hour intervals, 16 hours a day, then proceed to get a full night of sleep and return to work immediately. Not something I actually want, to be honest.

That's certainly true! However, it's also true that there's no meaningful threat involved, here. So I'm not sure that the rational reactions to a threat are particularly relevant to whether or not such behavior should be acceptable in this particular game.

Absolutely! But in real life, there is at least a potential of an actual threat. There's no such potential here, so it would seem irrational to respond in the same way.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's perfectly understandable when a player responds to toxic behavior with toxic language. But that doesn't make it a rational action, nor an acceptable one.

The potential is your time being wasted by trolling/afking/ being unable to do anything while they do whatever they want with the game in 20 esque minutes. And that's assuming they aren't premade. Double the toxicity, and no surrendering.

If there wasn't any potential of an actual threat in a game of league, then no one would even need to report anyone; You report someone because you feel threatened by the said person.

There's no threat, there. Merely the usage of time. And whether that time is wasted is largely dependent upon your own perception. I know people who believe that I'm wasting time whenever I play any League match. I know people who believe they've wasted time whenever they lose a match. I know people who believe they never waste time playing League - that it's always worth what they put into it. It's all in the individual's perception, and there's nothing any external player can do to change that.

In other words, they can only affect them if you choose to allow them to do so. I don't believe that qualifies them - or their actions - as a threat.

Personally, I report people when I have no interest in seeing their behavior become the norm for the game. Yeah, and I do something akin to that as well. But the amount of times people spam report is stupid. I don't care if the report won't do anything, it still puts something on my mind as I know I always end up being passive aggressive whenever there's something I don't like (w/ exceptions, of course). People will report or mute for the strangest things.

Sure, it's fair to argue that they're threatening you with wasted time. But is wasting 20-40 minutes of your free time genuinely on par with the threat of physical violence that an IRL bully presents? And if it is, how do you deal with long lines at amusement parks?

I dunno. I just can't see a genuinely rational comparison between the two situations.

Bullies don't have to threaten you with physical violence. I think physical violence from bullies has kinda died out, these day it's all the cyberbullying stuff.

I don't really go to amusement parks, so I can't relate to the comparison But at least I can AFK while waiting in line

The fight or flight instinct might come natural, but it's far from rational. The rational thing is to use your ratio (aka reason) to determine the right course of action, not rely on evolutionary instincts that might not even apply to the situation you are currently in.

You should retaliate to threats, but not throw a giant explosive tantrum. You should be allowed to at least retaliate in subtle ways at the very least. But you can't, as that is "passiveaggressive".

You shouldn't shy away from any problem, you have to do something about it. Yes there will be (supposed) eventual punishment for the person in question, but you needn't have to suffer for 40 minutes from opponents spamtaunting while they do whatever they want, as they have no fear of punishment.

Maybe make the threat of punishment for negative behavior more imposing? If not for toxicity, AFK punishment should definatly be more threatening

Yo this is a video game. If you legitimately react to people online with fight or flight then you aren't exactly a 100% rational human being.

No, fighting doesn't mean making death threats, pulling an XJ9, or going to their house to do who knows what.

You were permanently banned because you refuse to change your toxic behavior even after receiving two chat restrictions & 14 days suspension. Nothing to do with your teammates at all, since you prefer to talk crap back at them instead of muting because it makes you feel good, huh?

Otherwise you deserved it and whatever your teammates or opponents said or did doesn't matter, ultimately YOU made the choice to be toxic KNOWING you could be banned for it.
