So today I had a support Thresh who made it near impossible for me to lane, he kept autoing/stealing minions to deny me gold, never used lantern to help me etc. So I got a little upset and got chat banned but I feel as if I didn't say anything to deserve it.

I got chat banned yet he didn't get banned at all, nothing, despite ruining that whole game for me. Thank you Riot

Supports cs'ing isn't meta, but it isn't against the rules. As long as he was trying to win and wasn't intentionally handing the enemy kills or the win, not playing to the meta isn't a reportable offense.

However, complaining in chat and harassing him the entire game is a reportable offense. Asking for reports is considered harassment, and is also pointless. Just one report is enough to flag the game for review. Multiple reports don't flag the game for multiple reviews. And multiple reviews wouldn't even make a difference because they'd all find the same results. If you want to report someone, then do it. No good reason to ask anyone else to report.

Sounds like your teammates made you aware that your behavior wasn't okay. Hopefully this chat restriction will be enough to help you learn to keep your cool in games. Going forward, if another player does something you think you should report, do that. But don't spend the whole game complaining and insulting them or begging for reports.

LOL i was your YI who carried that game. I reported you. You were telling him he was worse than someone flaming bc he threatened to afk... then you threatened to afk.
