Can you lose honor checkpoints without receiving any actual punishment?

UPDATE: Just logged in today and I am at checkpoint 1 of 3 now so I guess it wasn’t just a visual bug :(. Could it be the new season resetting my honor?

Hi all, Last week looking at my honor I was at level 1 checkpoint 2 out of 3 on my profile. Today, however, I checked my honor hoping and expecting some positive change (considering I have had /all chat turned off and only say positive things such as gj, gg, wp and always honor someone after every game) but to my surprise I am now at honor level 1 checkpoint 0 of 3. I have not been any form of toxic nor have I received any kind of message from Riot stating a punishment or anything like that. I didn’t even know this was possible but I just want to know what happened. It’s really hard to reform when I’m moving backwards for doing the right thing...

It's a visual bug.

It's just a bug, don't worry about it :)! They're working on a fix.

This exact thing happened to me. I made a ticket and was told that I had received too many checkpoints by accident, so them resetting me from 1 2/3 to 1 1/3 was to correct this. However I don't believe it. I am skeptical about this until I am shown proof that I had indeed received too many checkpoints by accident.

I've hit the same checkpoint twice. It seems to be a bug of some sort, but I doubt Riot will own up to it.
