Thoughts on smurfing?

Idk i was just wondering what people thought about smurfing in the community? Idk how placements work but if someone was plat and then they intentionally place in a bracket below what they know to be their current, that just seems like they're intentionally not winning (which seems toxic in itself) and then they also go into games knowing they're significantly better than the people they play against (which also seems rather toxic) and lowers the quality of the games for the opposing team.

You described something specific that is not "smurfing". This rather spoils discussion from the outset.

Players have access to infinite free accounts. As long as that is true, smurfs will be unpreventable.

That said, I think people that intentionally choose to play with less skilled players in an attempt to boost their own ego are toxic.
