I got banned permanently for trolling in those two games.. I am not really a toxic person, but in fact a team player.. From time to time I do tend to troll in rare and very rare cases such as this one.. I have been chat restricted twice with both of them being 10 games each.. I never had been suspended ever. Instead they considered this to be insanely offensive and decided to permanently banned my account?? I was not aware that this was going to happen to my account. I never knew a game will take such desperate measures to get someone banned.. I wasn't even being extremely toxic or racist.. I think this punishment is extremely harsh overall. Why didn't they suspend my account to 14 days as most people mentioned when I was reading other Banned accounts on the forums.. I'm not a league of legends veterans and have only played a few months. I honestly wish I can get my account back. I will probably never ever troll in this game ever again. Knowing that my account will ever cease to exist. Also the guys I was facing with, were also having a good time talking shit back to me. While making me look like an idiot.. I didn't mind it at all.. I honestly thought we were all having fun on a NORMAL game.. I know those few games make me look like an asshole, but clearly the people who actually know me.. Know me as a very nice person. Is it possible to get my account back.. This is extremely harsh punishment.. I instantly got permanently banned.. Obviously, I will learn from now on to mute anyone and never chat in an aggressive or provoking manner. I never meant anything that I said in those chats.. I was never expecting someone to take what I said seriously to the point where I hurt them emotionally.. In fact I was getting trolled back.. Which was fine by me in those games. I don't know how to contact the support desk. Can anyone give me a link so I can try to get my account back.. I obviously know now, that you have to take this game very seriously and ignore everyone else. That's all I have to say..

I just don't understand why I got instantly PERMANENT BANNED. A suspension would had been more logical. I didn't get any warning emails as others got. I was only chat restricted twice with a 10 game restriction.. Then after that I got permanently banned?? How is that fair? can anyone explain please?

Repeated use of racial/homophobic slurs is one of those offenses that can result in skipping punishment tiers. If it wasn't so frequent it may have been a 14 day ban, but this seems like a pretty regular occurrence. That kind of behavior is not tolerated.

where is the zero policy towards a hate speech either ? i've sent multiple tickets to riot support about guys using hate speech while providing visual proofs as well as reporting them in the game... not one got even suspended.

based on this and my experience i would call it a " random zero tolerance policy " because it does not apply to everyboody and it works randomly

What i cant prove is that they were warned or chat restricted.

But as we see in this thread there is zero tolerance to hate speech, and using it results in suspnesion or permabans.

If you are not a straight, white male, your odds of being the victim of violence spike. Unless you are a part of a legit minority group who has actively been hated and targeted in public, keep your comments to yourself.

You need to look up bigotry if you think my comment was an example of it. Bigotry is characterized by close mindedness, intolerance, prejudice, and extremely limiting views that often fester into larger problems like homophobia and xenophobia. My comment was not bigotry. The person who tries to chalk up the violence that minority groups experience as "the random acts of violence that anyone can experience" is bigotry. Straight white men statistically do not experience remotely close to the same amounts of violence and hatred directed towards them as women, Latinos, blacks, gays, transgendered, Asians, or any other minority group you could think of. To have someone try to trivialize the problems that minorities face is just wrong, and hence why I said they needed to keep their comments to themselves.

It isn't. But then again, calling someone a slur in a game isn't either, nor is the trivialization of targeted hatred.

This conversation was over the moment you and the original person I commented on brought up reverse racism/sexism and calling those contesting those holding power and privilege bigots. It is impossible to have a discussion when your response is "Owie! You hurt my privilege and that means I suffer from everything a minority group suffers from!" You don't. You don't get to claim you're being oppressed when you can safely walk any street in the country and not worry about getting gay-bashed because you're holding hands with your boyfriend, or shot on the street because you're a black man taking out his wallet, or held by the authorities in an airport because you are Muslim and forgot to take the bottle of shampoo out of your luggage. You cannot be oppressed if you have social and political power. Learn the meaning and do your research before you attempt to have conversations about minority struggles and most especially before you start trying to claim oppression.

The first part of your comment is correct as straight white males are not often the victim of discrimination. However the second part of your comment is where the issue is. You can't silence people just because they have a differing opinion, just like no one can silence you for your opinions.

Just for the record discrimination is discrimination, doesn't matter who you are. If you think straight white males don't have a right to say anything, you are discriminating. They absolutely have a right to say something, even if it is "ignorant". The only time it is not ok to say something is if it is offensive just for the sake of being offensive.

But... but... you (or someone you know) personally hit me with a zero-to-permaban and I never did anything remotely resembling that. I understand that the volume of reports was high but the actual infractions were extremely slight.

I should never have gone from zero-to-permaban but rather, gotten like a chat restriction , as is standard protocol.

I will not let it go.... I know it will never happen but I just want them to admit they made a mistake. The original Riot team did this, a guy was unbanned and Riot apologized for the first time ever [The case was a landmark case against the draconian system because the guy was actually toxic AGAINST HIMSELF, trololol] and everyone gained respect because Riot could admit that they were not above making errors.

Anyway they never even said they were wrong in my case. They continually pretend like it was my fault that they zero-to-permabanned me... NO, it was not my fault. Their radio silence and eventually rescinding of the order demonstrates that. A "Yeah we jumped the gun on that one" would have gone a very long way.

But hey, I'm sure that in your case and your case alone it's a conspiracy, because you are so very super special. The explanation that was given to you plenty of times is obviously just a cover up, because Riot cannot possibly admit a mistake. To you, that is. To everybody else they can.

That's a false premise, they don't explain or apologize to everyone else.

Original Riot team did, new Riot team does not.... if you really want to know why I think they refuse to admit the mistake.... I think it's because they don't want to appear "weak", but in my personal opinion it is a much weaker man that cannot admit errors than one that stubbornly denies them.

What Tantram is saying is that standard policy for a typical "you're too toxic time for you to take a break for two weeks," 14-day ban is to first put the account under a 'shield ban' with no specified time until the user logs in, goes "hey what's going on with my account?" and they can confirm the user receives communication from player support about how their account is not going to be usable for two weeks and why that is going on and occasionally may also make a case that their account was compromised and the toxicity was actually from a haxxor that had temporarily stolen the account.

No mistake on Riot's part, the user in this case just thinks the standard 'shield' ban was a permaban that was overturned, which is not the case.

At least, this is how I understand it.

According to Tantram there was no permaban, only a "shield" ban which is always applied before a 2 week ban and was removed exactly when it is always removed (when the punished player contacts/is contacted by support)

I made a mistake and I recognize that now, I conflated their choice to hit me with a zero-to-permaban me for so-called toxicity with their "Zero tolerance policy towards hater speech" when Riot never specifically told me it was 'Hatespeech', they just called it 'toxicity'.

I retract that particular statement, my core premise still stands though. It was bullshit that I got hit with a zero-to-permaban for such a small infraction.

You were correctly banned. I don't know how many times I have to explain this to you. The manual ban process that was applied to your account is standard procedure. No matter how many times you try to convince yourself otherwise. I really have no idea what you are looking for. Your case is closed and was handled 100% correctly for a manual investigation. Handled exactly like other manual bans, according to standard policy.

I made a very long post but decided to condense it. I want to answer your question succinctly;

I really have no idea what you are looking for.

Two things;

One: Could you at least tell me WHY I was hit with the zero-to-permaban punishment? Please, PLEASE don't say "Toxicity" or "Volume of reports" because even your own people have told me my toxicity was not worthy of a zero-to-permaban punishment. That was the whole reason the permaban was rescinded, that I was NOT toxic enough to merit such an extreme punishment.

And two: Why was I kept in the dark for 7 months before finally having it [partially] explaned? I don't think I'm being unreasonable with wanting to know these things. I will accept a permaban even right now if that is the price I must pay..... but I want to know the answers to these fairly reasonable questions.

Yeah I remember that, that was many months after the incident occurred.

EDIT: And by the way, for those who follow me and think I am lying or exaggerating, here is the original thread I created immedaitely after I received a "You have been permanently suspended" message.

Here's a link where you state to "never be toxic again," after being reduced to a 14-day ban. You thanked Riot for only inflicting a 14-day ban and not a permaban. You know why your punishment was given.

You were never hit with a perma-ban. You were hit with a 'shield' ban. Your account was locked until you wrote in to protect your account in case your behavior was a result of an account compromise. It wasn't. So, you received a 14-day ban.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable with wanting to know these things.

How many times have I explained it to you, in the same way? I'm being very clear. I have no idea what it is you want.

I really really don't want to support DD in this argument... but are there plans to make the nature of such shield bans more obvious?

I mean... what if, worst case, somebody thinks they were actually hit with a permaban, and they never write in because they believe they deserved a permaban for their toxicity? Then you would have effectively permabanned somebody that neither deserved it for toxicity, nor needed it for account protection.
