6 minute ban in matchmaking for missing a champ ban before the counter hit zero

Not sure if this is the right board for this....

So after sitting in queue for 5 minutes and being recycled twice, I now have a suspention for 6 minutes because I didn't get to the locked button for champ ban in time.... It's a ban... and I was selected... why would one offense set me back instantly like that? This punishment is ridiculous and beyond excessive!... maybe in ranked but in Normal? come on... bans are optional in the first place. Someone please explain this logic to me...

Its just the standard time penalty for dodging a match. Do it more frequently and the time will increase. The reason is that you are matching up with 9 other players and wasting their time. Seriously though, 6 min is nothing.

6 minutes is ages when I want to freaking play and got penalized for not locking in a ban... ban was still selected, match champ was selected... they forced me to dodge by kicking me for not "locking in" the ban.... They already have a check to see if you are present before the match locks in.

Well if it is such a big issue then make sure you don't dodge or forget to lock in.

I could be wrong here (and please feel free to respectfully correct me if I am), but it sounds like you may have a history of leaving/dodging queues, hence why you got placed in Low Priority Queue.

6 mins just means 2 dodges in a short span, not a big deal.

6 minutes is for the first dodge in 16 hours 15 minutes is for the 2nd.

Yeah, not really the case, I never dodge.... people kept dodging which was why i was "recycled" twice....

Well.. no bans aren't optional. If you dont want bans then go blind pick and not draft. If you dont pick a ban then the game assumes you are afk and it counts as a dodge.

That's kind of my point though, it's a ban, and I did have the ban champ selected just not on the lock button... it's not a champ select, nor is the match ranked. Trash bans are as bad as no ban at all... if you don't lock in your champ I could understand but this penalty is senseless, they wasted my time and other players. I had even selected my match champ before all this. This clearly indicates I was not afk. I got caught up in trying to pick a champ to ban... not much sense to get a penalty for such a passive mistake.

You were punished just like the people who dodged ending in you being recycled twice. If you're complaining about being recycled, then don't complain about getting punished when you do the same thing they did. It's not hard to pay attention and lock in.
